Glogin another great video. I always enjoy watching them, although I have only hunted north of you I wandered around similar looking country. I hope Christmas and New Years was good for you and the family.
Let me know when the package arrives.

I'm not an european deer expert. Was that a doe roe deer or a fawn red deer? My interest was piqued by my coworker's 2013 hunt. http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=189523

This was mature roe doe and quite big she was too That's why I was a little confused. It looked big for a roe deer, small for a red deer. Can you comment on my co-worker's bucks? Are those decent bucks? How do you judge them? Other than mass, the pearled buck looks smaller to my eye then the reputedly smaller buck.

I am not a member of that forum and cant see pictures but from the write up one was bronze and second silver medal. In Europe we have CIC scoring system. CIC Depending on what species you are interested in there are different scoring criteria. More details how to measure and what are the brackets for bronze, silver and gold are in "blue" and "red" books in the CIC website if you follow the link. Basically most important criteria in case of roebuck is weight. Then volume of antlers and then length of tines, etc. They must have been good bucks to score medals, I dont have any medals in my collection and my area is rather poor quality forestry ground producing not very good trophies but south of England and some areas in Scotland are well known for top quality roe stalking. Give it a go if you can.

George, the reviews are mixed. It really just looks like a heavy plastic tarp. But I agree it could be useful. I saw the ad in a magazine and looked it up.

Thanks reminding me about this one. I have crazy carpet ready for something big to use it on, but mainly hunted roe deer and did not really need it. Plenty of videos since last time we spoke, but none with red deer extraction, but no long to red stag season or may use it on pigs too. Roestalker YouTube Channel
