5 smile My best year yet.
I was planning to pull em last week but I wanted to see if I could top my old record of 4.
I'll start pulling them in a couple of days now that I've reached that goal.
There's still four weeks of season left but there'sno point in getting greedy.

Canoes are so much fun.. Our's is sitting at my grandparents house back in IN.. I'm hoping to get it out here this summer though. It'd be great on the Musselshell. And I'd say you can teach Sally to do 'bout anything...she is a cur after all! smile

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Thanks Travis
I just turned that last Cat this afternoon.
He's got the longest belly hair I've ever seen.
To bad he isn't wider and whiter. He'd be top lot for sure if he was.
Oh well,,, that's the nature of Idaho cats.
I'll still end up with enough for that new canoe and then some so I'm happy.

270,,, yikes. I'm guessing you don't save the fur.
Shame if you don't cause that's some pretty nice looking fur right there.

Good to see you getting out though.
Well done.

Field, I took the coyote to a friend who traps and wants fur.. It really wasn't torn up too bad, but they have started to rub.. So he didn't want to fool with it.. I had some other uses for some of the fur so it worked out fine..

With the wind here, a heavier bullet works best.. I love my .22 caliber varmint rifles, but years ago, I picked up a used .25-06.. My score on coyotes went up and stayed there for that fall..
So now I usually keep a .22-250 or a similar caliber in the truck and a heavier rifle.. Switched to the .25-06 this afternoon.. Haven't shot it for over a year.. We get out a bit most days.. Even if it to let the dogs play... Best of luck..

Yea,,, having lived in Douglas I figured the wind probably played a role in your choice of cartridges. Better to have to do a little sewing than stay home or wound and loose em.
To bad he's rubbed but it's that time of year isn't it?
My guy will still take Coyotes but the prominent fur buyer over here (Moscow Fur) won't take em after the first of the year.

Oh,,, BTW,,, Good shot!
