Ignore the well defined lighter line as that is a funny flash bounce off of the tool box. The cloud like patterned crap is it. If you really want the affect, take sanpaper to a freshly painted stock and you'll get the idea.

They ought to kick the guy that installed that stud back to Mexico.

Chuck, the rear stud sometimes has a longer "shank" than the front stud... got them backwards perhaps?

Take a better photo of the butt... looks pretty bad tho!

A shortened stud can be installed in seconds,as to the paint, the pictures reveal little.

I pull the studs out and 5-minute epoxy them in,as a matter of SOP......................

Chuck also, is that a 1" Decelerator on the rear?

Photo makes it look thinner.

Like I said, take sandpaper to a painted stock, and you'll soon get the idea.

The stud I've dealt with, and mine get glued in as well.

I'm a poor aesthetics barometer,because I weigh function firstly..................................

I'm thinking McMillan should find out EXACTLY what Chuck wants and bend over backwards to get it to him ASAP at NO CHARGE......the frustration he has been through is worth more than the price of the stock!!!

For what a McMillan costs........there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for the poor quality we can see in the photo!!! I would not allow them another chance at "fixing" the stock........they either need to refund every single cent he has spent or they need to send him a new stock at no charge.....or, preferrably both!

Up to this point function has been the issue, although painting the bedding at the tang may still be, yet it's becomming a bit of a joke regardless.

Was it McMillan that didn't screw the stud in all the way and left a scratch in the paint?

What am I missing? How come everyone is yelling?

Come on..someone clue me in..........................

Chuck,

In the image on the grass, there is some aberrations in the paint. Is that what has you all nutted up?

Any chance it coulda been scuffed in shipment? Our stuff gets beat to hell on the average, via Mail Courier. I've received goods way more troubled than that.

Just trying to clarify the gripe.........................

I think you need to contact McMillan directly and speak to the owner. If that doesn't resolve it contact the Better Business Bureau in McMillian's neck of the woods. That usually gets things moving. www.bbb.org

you can't see that botched paint job? It's really bad and I'm sure it looks worse in the flesh.

Looks like they started with the grinder on the first two coats and changed their mind? Brushed the third coat?

I can't see hardly anything more than a glitch.

Curious to know why happiness can't be resolved, via Rick's initial offer? Really can't fathom squealing like a bitch to the BBB or anyone else, either.

So the gripe is the paint job and it was offered to tweak it gratis, including S&H?

WTF am I missing?............................

I think the only thing you're "missing" is that this would be "effort no. 4" in the healing process ... almost 6 full months have passed, and he's still dealing with problems, however minor they might seem...

again, for the record, I see no reason this issue can't be put to rest with complete, final satisfaction ... but having to thru all this to get there, when dealing the entire time with the top of the heap (McMillan and Rick) .... well, that would be frustrating for just about anyone, no?

I think the frustration, more than anything, is the incredible amount of time and effort it's taken to get this far, and he's still not "there" yet ... but all of this is just my simple interpretation ... ymmv

I'd be curious to see photos of the whole process. Scratches/scritches,don't rock my boat,so that is difficult for me to fathom.

I'd of hit it with Krylon and killed somethin',but dat's me.

I'm not Ms. Cleo, but my impression of Mr. Rick's sincerity,is that it is genuine.

again ... I'm not calling Rick or McMillan into question ... in fact, I've said (in my own way) that I think very highly of Rick, and that he's laid the path to success at Chuck's feet ...

Not a gripe with you by any means ... but you're a unique one ... you've had LOTS of dealings with McM and Rick ... you've got more rifles of your own that a lot of us combined ... for you, waiting on something like this to be made right is not a problem ... but for some people, it is ... and there-in lies the problem.

It's just that the same thing can be completely different for two people ... I think the distance between your thinking/personality and Chuck's thinking/personality is the great divide ... if you're missing anything, I'd say that's it ...

but then again, I'm inclined to think you don't miss much, when it comes to things like this ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
