For $500.00 it should be right the 1st time and at the worst 2nd time but never never go as far as being sent back to make it right 3 or more times. You pay the cash to have a light weight stock you don't need 3 coats of paint on it to make weight any more!!!

if you can't bloody read, that is your problem. These fine gentlemen have danced this "send it back and we'll make it right routine" three times already. If you can't figure that one out I don't know what else to tell you. The stock has had three pads, three paint jobs.................DUDE.

Not only that, but I've been flat out lied to by both Rick Bin and Kelly McMillan through the process.

Keep digging you idiot and I'll post more.

My thinking is simple: In Life, you can either laugh or cry. Tough to kick the smile off my face and a scratch ain't doin' it,especially after amends have been offered gratis.

Guess a guy could always stay mad,not have it "fixed" and use it as a pouting stick.

My thinking can't align with any of them notions, when it's so easy to be happy...................

I should probably just keep my typing finger mouth shut on this thread, but:

1.For the amount of money paid I'd expect perfection. (Rick has offered it and I believe should be given the opportunity to provide it..even if it is the 2nd,3rd, 4th whatever time)He's good to his word and if it went to him the last time probably wouldn't need this step anyway!

2.Although the first time I carried that rifle with my deer stand on my back it would be roughed up worse then that I'd still want it right to start with!

3.I bet the receptionist at McMillan knows studs don't go out like that front one so somebody needs to spend a little while in time out down there<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

4.By airing this legitimate grievance on the free board Rick provides us, you OWE him the chance to resolve it on his nickel as stated..and then show us again when he makes it right.

5. Last and most importantly we need a full range report once that baby is put together..

Haven't reached for the shovel yet,but I can, should it please your senses.

I can count to 3 and beyond,but that's semantics.

I'd be inclined to state plainly, via text,my desired alterations to the existing theme, which would grant you the warm/fuzzy. Pissin' and moanin',don't do much more than humor The Gallery, though they're likely grateful for the antics(kinda digging it,myself).

That a miscommunication mighta happened, wouldn't much catch me by suprise. You've a product of reknown, backed by both the Manufacturer and the "middle man",but that still isn't good enough?

I cain't cypher it as being a personal vendetta, orchestrated by two gents in the US to bust your Canuckian balls.

Take a deep breath, close your hole, get the damn thing fixed in the manner you're happy with.

Gratis is fairly affordable.................................

Alright, Rick told me when the pad went back the first time for repare that he didn't install that screwed up pad, McMillan did. Called McMillan and spoke with Dick Davis and he says they ship Rick unpadded blanks. HMMMM. Honourable bunch so far, and I guess the UPS guy installs pads. Being played a fool pisses me off. But out of the goodness of his heart, Rick pays for and fixes McMillans screw up on his dime. What a pathetic joke. Then the wrong LOP, and I can't deal with this guy anymore so I explain myself very ernestly to Kelly McMillan and he says ship the stock attn him and he will personally see that it is fixed and turned around in a week. Well it gets there and I get a call from one of McMillans friendly receptionsts wondering why I've sent this stock. I explain, and she replies, "Oh, I guese that is why it says attn Kelly on the box". I guess I say. Well I call back a week later and am told I'm stupid to expect Kelly to look after this stock and turn it around in a week. Apparently, so I leave a voicemail for Kelly (still hasn't returned the call). Now I get this stock that I'm guessing Kelly never even bothered to look at it as he said he would. Eigther that, or he can't see to well. So now another liar.

I'm tired of being jerked around and these "free" fixes now total $41.00. Noone has offered to cover the shipping.

Why would I trust eigther party anymore and why should I wait 7 months for a stock? Gratis my rear.

perfection is expected for the tune of $500? your standards are a lot higher than mine.

i fully understand your unhappy with the whole process, and i expect i would bitch a bit too, however i would keep sending it back on Ricks dime till i was happy since he has offered. might not personally use him again but i would keep sending it to him till it was to my standard and i dont have 1/8 of the extra toys to play with that Stick does in the time being. some things just aint worth the heart burn and $500 is one even if i dont make big $. i basically through away $1500 on a custome rifle a few years ago that a smith totally f'ed up i sat and bitched at him for a couple months before starting to air my problems here.

near as i can tell one of the main things Rick has to go by for his buisness is his reputation here. i highly doubt he would risk that for his cut of a single $500 stock

I'm not much on hypothesizing who said what, but results do interest me.

If I Mail you a check for $41,will you shut the [bleep] up and let Rick fix it? Or hell,we could take donations...I can't be the only one to rate your coming unhinged,as a commodity worthy of payment?

You'd think wouldn't you.

I'm done here, I've said my beef, and in my mind have been screwed. I don't like it, but will deal with it. Just remember, that there is more to some than meets the eye. I assure you that I'm not the only one here that has figured that one out.

I'll send you $50 if you'll do the same, and I'm sure donations for that would be easier to come by.

sorry to hear about your dealings on the stock

if it were me, I'd be sending it back to Rick, on his $, until everything was right

for the $ you forked out, you should get a quality product, no doubt. so many hoops to jump through sometimes, a guy can get tired.

Chuck,

What's the stock worth to ya?

You obviously don't want it, and you don't want it fixed (Rick's offered). So, part with it. What's it worth to you? What are the specs?

Really can't fathom squealing like a bitch to the BBB or anyone else, either.

The BBB is there to resolve comsumer complaints like this one. Based on what I have seen in this thread I think you should contact them and let it proceed from there. Three times is two times too many. You are not dealing with a very complex product here. Screwing it up three times is pretty pathetic in my book.

I have bought at least 4 McMs via Rick, another dozen or so directly from McM, and even a couple inventory reduction deals from Midway. I did have trouble with 2 stocks that I bought from Rick, they are Rem 7 style stocks and were advertised as being inletted for Rem 7 actions. When I got them, I found that they were inletted for Rem 700 SAs instead. Rick offered to take them back with a full refund, but I've always got a Rem 700 SA project floating around, so I kept them. Other than that, I've never had a problem with a McM. Rick has always been more than fair when dealing with me and I doubt that he lied to you over a $500 stock. Yes, it should have been right the 1st time. Yes, you've got a right to be pissed. But it seems to me that you'd be ahead of the game by letting Rick fix the problem and Stick has even gone so far as to offer to reimburse you for your previous shipping expenses. What more can anyone do to help?

Jeff
