Beargrease, any contact to the BBB will result in them looking at it, and seeing as how the distributor (Rick) has offered to fix it on his nickel, or (likely) offer a full refund, their response is going to be to either [bleep] or get off the pot, one way or the other...

[bleep] happens, everywhere and with everything. This one sucks, yeah, but everything that can be done at this point has been offered.

So, what's the value of it now, Chuck? Seriously...

I cain't shift my brain into a gear low enough,to mull the thought................................

I'm 30+ handles deep, sourced via McMillan and a bunch more sourced from other vendors(all McMillan).

I patiently await the first malady.

Pards are good for probably 50 more and have the same "luck" factor........................

What sense does it make to try and convince an unhappy man....that he should be happy?

After all, it is his $$, time, and effort....not any of ours.

I think Rick did his part, trying to make it right, why does anyone have a dog in this fight?

Suppose it does make for interesting commentary, though....

For the record, not that it matters, if it were my 550$, 7 months, and consequent headache.....I'd be pizzed off...and the last thing I would want is someone, with no stake, telling me how I should feel......or deal with it.

But, then again, I suppose posting it here opened up the gate for opinions....

You wouldn't know a McMillan from Massengill.

That the crux escapes you, don't suprise me.

Least the BBB will see to it the dispute is resolved one way or another and not dragged out any longer. This is pure and simple a result of poor customer service. I don't know if Rick has people working for him or what but someone really dropped the ball after the first time the stock was returned. What happened to the concept the "customer is always right"? More than one little business became a big business based on that philosiphy.

How many popsicle sticks can a guy get for $20 bucks?

Hmmmmmmmm............

Dug up a freaking water tank for the 3rd time today, this time the heat trace went bad, warranty will replace the heat trace, but not the replacement cost of 30 ft. of copper tubing, my plumbers hours, and the equipment costs to move 30 bucket loads of cover dirt.

Was on the verge of being pizzed to the max for a minute, and then thankfully it hit me as my two boys was walking up the driveway.

Some poor SOB is looking down at his kid in a hospital bed, wondering WTF?

I really ain't got any problems, but if I let myself get worked up I can imagine some pretty good ones.

Sucks about the stock, can't be fun, still I'd trade you for this freaking water tank dilemma (at least you can mail yours off) but all in all I like the chickenchit stuff I have to deal with, I'd hate to have real problems.

Tough to argue with that. Thanks for that prospective.

I took the little guy on a recycling run and then for ice cream tonight. He fell asleep before I could get him to the shop and the promissed treat. Hope he forgives me in the morning.

why does anyone have a dog in this fight?

Because many of us here have done business with Rick and in the event there is a screw-up he is there to back it up!! Always has been. Never met the man in person, but I would like to ... & that's sayin' sumptin, I like my dogs more than 80% of the BS'ers here, there's a crew that is real, but too many that are full of chit!!! (It ain't hard to tell the difference).

I know Chuck has a beef & perhaps rightly so, but going elsewhere is cuttin' off your nose to spite your face! Give Rick a second chance AND BE SPECIFIC WHAT YOU WANT!!! You'll get it.

Why else would I have a dog in this fight??, simple. Rick runs a fabulous site here and most can say what they want .... I doubt there is another board on the 'net that a user could "piss" on the owners wheaties and stay a member!!! Says a lot about the man!! I am also a firm believer of supporting those who support me. I may pay a buck or two more when buying from Rick on some occasions (rare but have occured), but I know I'm supporting the man who has given us this forum and I sleep well at nite knowing it. The more wares he peddles the better this place becomes! Look at us ... over 10,000 people, when I joined there was just over 2000 (cain't remember my # at this time). This place rocks because of Rick .... this is why I pick my dog.

Nothin' against Chuck, whilst I haven't read all his posts, there typically seems to be little BS in them, just like there is little BS in the post that started this thread ..... hardheadedness, perhaps. ... but how many here don't suffer from that???

Chuck, sometimes you have to cut your losses. Can you just get a refund and move on?

I finally said to hell with Zeiss after they screwed me 3 times in a row. People here love them, but they screwed me out of 2 months of shooting and a lot of shipping costs.

Sure hope you read my whole post, and noticed that I said that Rick HAD done his part.

I, too, can't imagine Rick flaking out...and if I were Chuck...I'd take Rick up on his offer....and the deal would be sealed, hopefully. But I'm not Chuck, nor am I there to see the probs with the gun.

I only commented because you got a whole host of people telling Chuck how he should feel/deal...and since it ain't my/your 550$, 7 months, and pain in the azz, I thinik the fact he is upset shouldn't be up for some nail salon drama...but maybe I am missing something.....

Had to google "massingill"....and laughed, cuz it was a good one. Sometimes I wonder why I even try try, lol....I'll "let the men talk".....and hedge out, now....
