For $500.00 it should be right the 1st time and at the worst 2nd time but never never go as far as being sent back to make it right 3 or more times.

DUDE!!!

Glad you haven't walked into a Mercedes showroom lately & plunked down more than a few Benjamins & then expected perfection. Great way to pi** in your cereal.
There are worse things in life, especially when the offer is there to make things right...

I've seen some very level headed, tolerant people lately get totally unhinged after springing pretty big loot for their new Benzes, spending more time in loaner Ford Tauruses from the local dealer than in their rides, while the dealer techs try to polish the turds oozing of the production lines...

Of course not.

And just for an FYI, I've been dealing with these guys off board and in private for quite some time and it has got me nowhere. They've told me to send it back "we'll make it right" just like Rick has stated here. But it hasn't happened. Why would the next time be any different? That is my beef.

You got 2 options
1 Let Rick fix it
2 Sell it and forget it
You made your point....pissin and moanin ain't gonna get you
anyplace.
I waited 2 years three months for a custom rifle. When I got it
is was FUBAR.Had it in my hands less than 36 hours before I
sent it to someone else.If you feel Rick/McMillan can't do the
job,the sooner you sell it the faster you get past it.
I'll give you $300 for it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Stick,you one funny sum bitch.

Well, actually Jeff, he has three options:

1) he can keep it and continue to b!tch and moan about it;
2) he can send it to Rick and get Rick to fix it; or
3) he can sell it, and now has an offer for $300 on it.

And, yeah, 'Stick is one funny sumbitch... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

No, but it weren't my f'k up.

Seems as I recall that both Rick and 'Stick have offered to cover shipping. I figure that if he wants that option, he's got it covered pretty well.

Like I said, he still has three options, anyway you slice it.

Both Rick and McMillan have proven that they are incapable of fixing it. Bottom line.

So, you've ruled out one option. Great.

That leaves two options:

1) keep it and continue to bi!tch and complain about it; or
2) sell it.

Your choice.

Rick hasn't covered ANY shipping yet... why would a third time be different?

I paid shipping to Rick the first time for this stock because I'd intercepted the POS before it went over the border. I didn't want Chuck to reimburse me but a check arrived in the mail anyway... that's the "word is his bond" type of person Chuck is.

I tender a fair offer for such a [bleep] up stock.
If it's as bad as stated he sould be happy to get rid of it.

Look, I am not trying to be an azz... though I'm probably succeeding anyway...

I have to solve client's problems that are a lot worse than this one every day.

Rule #1 is identify the problem, which y'all have done.
Rule #2 is to identify any and all practical/possible solutions, which was done.
Rule #3 is to eliminate options until you are left with the one the client has chosen, even if by default, to take.

So, you've got two options. Either choose one, or eliminate one; the choice is yours.

Pony up what?

He has a valid offer, and he has a choice between two options.

He can take $300, he can offer it up for sale for more than that, or he can keep it. He eliminated the "get it fixed/right" solution. The onus is on the manufacturer/distributor to fix a problem with the client's goods. That has been attempted, and has been offered, but the current offer has been rejected. Which eliminates that option and the manufacturer/distributors obligations, unless the client wants to take them up on their offer. Which he doesn't.

So, he has two options left.

Those are the facts, as they stand.

Were there integrity in this debacle here's the way I'd see it playing out:

1) A check for at least half the stock's cost would be forthcoming along with the shipping costs.

2) A new blank would be forthcoming gratis.

3) A full refund would be forthcoming including past shipping and a call tag for the current stock.

A McMillan Edge with four coats of paint ain't a new McMillan Edge anyway you slice it. The point of the Edge is minimal weight...
