Are you sure you haven't hung out with my demented crew in the past?

I swear that I could get all the entertainment I need just by reading your quips

This whole thing is interesting, but not for the reasons some might expect. IMHO, I think McMillan's have slipped in quality over the last few years. I've ordered some stocks from them for rifles I've built for customers and every one needed tweaking with something to get them to fit, even though the action, barrel, bottom metal et al., was specified to a 'T' on the order form. On one, I had to spend over an hour with a dremel and cutting head to get the bottom metal to fit into the stock..

When you pay that kind of money for a stock, the damn thing better fit. I have heard nothing but raves for these things over the years but I have to tell ya, I haven't been impressed to date..

But then, I'm a wood man myself......

Rick,
I am beginning to wonder about the stock I ordered in December?
I am confident from my deals with you in the past that you are among the A team of guys to deal with.
But I wonder what is happening over at McMillan, has the immigration authorities made a sweep through their labor pool or something similar causing disruption?

I think after reading about the path Chuck's stock has been on that I am going to choose patience with this one because it is for a rifle that I was not planning to take on my November trip anyway. But I still want it to look good.

Last McMillan order to hit these parts, was about 3wks ago and included 5 examples. 2 were mine,2 'humpers and 1 for The Pimp.

Am thinking the Gap Camo Sillwet T-hole for my 54 Anschutz was the most complicated inlet and it also boasted a 3-way butt and flushcups. Fact is,I included a detailed traced blueprint of the TG footprint,to help Kelly and crew out. It was/is flawless and my Classic in the same scheme,it's equal.

[Linked Image]

'Humpers brace of A5's were dead nuts on(GAP Camo and Gap Camo swirl). The Pimp's swirly Classic, was also preefect.

The tally has gotta be over 100 by now and noone has been less than thrilled yet.

The trend I see,is that stocks is easy: McMillan or bust........................

Should add,I know Kelly and crew have been slammed with orders on various levels and that run times have lengthened.

Don't sweat it.......................
