I'm not into restoration - just get 'em nice and running well and enjoy them. They are just old trucks, and it will be great if my family can get out of them what I have in them. Pretty well sums up my take on them as well - you do have some nice old Chevys there. My Dad had a 72 C20 Suburban as a kid I learned to drive on and I've had a soft spot for that series truck ever since. My first was a 71 Blazer I bought in 92 in mint/restored condition that now needs some major rust repair. The red 72 above I bought 3-4 years ago as it sits. It was restored a number of years ago and it's starting to show some wear.

No cars to speak of, do a couple of old Airstreams count? Got pics? t Should have it polished over the next couple of weeks.

Nope. Had mid to late 60's Corvette's some years ago. Upon retirement, I do plan to take some of my stock market proceeds and buy some sort of hod rod, classic or not.

Now that I'm retired I can finally afford to spend some money a "Fun" car. Hope I own this one long enough for it to become a classic !! 2013, 5.0, Mustang. My 7 year old grandson already has "Eyes" on it, as his first car.... Got bad news for him, Grandma likes to drive it too !! 420 HP of fun !! Sold a '57 Chevy years ago.... THAT was a Mistake !!

Do any of you collect classic cars to hold or tinker with and sell when you retire? Never done it for an investment but have done a couple "project" cars in the past that made a few dollars... I'm currently looking at picking up an old Willys Wagon body to stick on a more modern frame & drive train.

GTC My parent's neighbors have a shop full of old JD's. One of 'em is an original 8020(serial number says it's one of the first 50 four wheel drives that JD ever made). He said it's worth +$100,000.

I asked my Dad if he would ever restore a tractor. He just laughed at me. It seems like the guys who restore tractors are the guys who didn't spend half their lives beating on them.

Its a toy, not an investment. OP, Put on your big boy pants and actually save for retirement. If you want classic cars label it what it really is, a money pit and a hobby.

This will probably never be an investment, too many of them were built. 85 535I. This one, however, is appreciating slowly. 1985 Euro M635Csi. About 220 imported into the US and about 2000 total produced. Almost done with the restoration on it.

I got tired of seeing so many with red and the black conv top like mine, so I found a hard top (not easy), painted mine Nevada Silver, added the black HT and re-did the interior vinyl to match. Somewhere I have a photo of that one with the top off, three young daughters on the short deck behind the seats, 2 yr. old on my wife's lap in the pass seat - and all of us headed up to Mt. Lemmon. Try that today with al of the child restraint laws.

It has the Triumph logo and symbol across the nose, rear fender guards, etc. Here are the particulars: Commision No. TCF1968LO Engine No. TCF/1956E Body No. 2383/TSF I sold it to a pilot who flew out with his son from PA, and drove it back cross-country. Last I heard he got injured by a drunk driver (not in the TR3B) and had to sell the car...? Eric

GTC Old tractor are cool but don't hold value like classic cars do. Here is one of my old tractors I rebuilt it's a 1950 JD M. I rebuilt it all and painted everything but the tins and then sold her to my dad. He painted the tins on it and installed the stickers. Before After I also had this 1935 farmall with plows but sold her. Here is my newest project 1938 Chevy coupe. She is almost done. Next I want to find a early 1950's truck to enjoy and add to the collection.
