Good part of city life is Costco only carries Amber by the case. Might have to crack one myself when I get home.

Somehow the lines of Monty Python's lumberjack song come to mind, but I'm thinking it's not the lumberjack that has the panties on.

Here is the coues deer I took in mexico last year.

Broken it scores 89 and if he was all there he'd be between 105 and 110. Just my luck the buck had to be broken.
[Linked Image]

Happy with him anyways. The mexicans made us a nice meal with the backstraps. never forget that one!

Big Stick ... thanks again for your help today ... washers work as expected, and CJ and I will finish the job proper, when we hook up later ...

for now, I have to wait until tomorrow to take a picture of the completed rifle, in all it's glory ... McMillan stock and all ........

but for now, I'll list specs, down to the last detail ...

Min. SAAMI spec chambered .223rem
Rem700 ss sa right hand .378" bolt face, trued/squared ... factory recoil lug, trued ... PacNor SS SuperMatch varmint contour bbl twisted 1:9", 3 lands/grooves, 11 degree target crown, finished @ 24" ... factory ss trigger, stoned/tuned to 2# crisp ... Williams one-piece floorplate w/ combat latch finished in black teflon ... McMillan A5 stock - 60/20/20 black/od/lt.gray - heavy filled, presentation pad, three stainless studs in the usual configuration ... TPS 20MOA alloy base ... TPS TSR alloy rings ... USO contoured bubble level ... Leupold M1 3.5-10x40 LR/T mildot with butler creeks ... Harris 9-13" swivel bipod ... Uncle Mikes 3-point 1-1/4" wide sling ... Eagle stock pack in OD ... and, a ScoreHigh single shot follower insert ...

There ... I think that's everything ... wow, how dumb am I to build a custom rifle using a SUCKS action, McMillan stock, and Leupold scope??? I must be insane ...........

HBB,

Yep the buck came from Sonora off one of the ranches that I realized is probably my favorite.

As far as rifles, This buck was taken with a 25-06. We took two bucks with this rifle. Preformance was great.
I really like magnum rifles. The 300 win mag is probably my all time favorite for coues. Not because its better, but because I like the bullet choices and different uses for the rifle.
The Rifles I favor the most are: 300 mag (any), 7mm mag (any), 270 (any), 25-06. Any of those rifle equiped with a 3x9 scope or better, and you have a great coues gun. I have used them all, including the 308 and the 243, but the above are the ones I think are better for the task.

That bear almost looks bigger than the one DFC shot!! ....

now we got pantyless pirates .... let's hope their not butt pirates ....

and Enrique has to bring Mexicans into the equations .... don't you know its all the Mexicans fault??? If there wasn't Mexicans in AZ, then Chuck's stock would work fine ..... damn it!! (my wife's family is Mexican, and the eats do kick booty (except for something called minudo?? ... I'm not that brave))

Leave the Mexicans out of this. Its not their fault they makethe stocks Americans don't make.
And Menudo is the BOMB!!! One of my favorite meals. I am only lucky enough to eat it twice a year. Christmas and New years. Served with Tamales, beans and Rice. It will knock your socks off.

Eat this:

The above is how the ranchers took care of the meat.

Trick is to start off with several Negro Modelos then the menudo and tripos ain't too bad.

Done right, tamales might be one of the best meals in the world. A little habanero sauce don't hurt either. Damn, I'm gettin' hungry...

Someone asked "what are tripas?"

They are cow intestines. The utter intestines if I am not mistaken. We call them "tripas de Leche" and they eat well if cooked properly.
