The trouble with 30mm tubes in general,is that there isn't much offered in the way of mounting them low and snug.
I'd love to see LW's offered in 30mm low.
Would also like to see an LW "Tactical" Theme, sorta a homogenous IBA-ish system in 30mm that would mount a 40mm objective low and with 20MOA inclination. The 1pc base/homogenous rings, coupled with 4 fasteners, would be SWEET.
Until then,I'd prolly go DD posilign.........................
Stick, No 20 MOA base, but this is about as low and tight as I could get with a 30mm tube. You do have a point.
I just got an email from Talley. One piece LW 30mm talleys are now available in low and medium for the 700 SUCKS. I think I need medium still for the 700 KS with the 3-12x50 swaro. What says the crowd???
I shot that rifle pretty much as my "main" 223AI,for quite a spell and The Boy grew up on it too. Would like to know it's round count. Sister is on it now and it's still goin'.
It's on it's 3rd or 4th coat of matte black BBQ Krylon.
The uppermost rifles flutes are getting rusty, the polished tube is horribly haggard with scratches, dents, bruises and I should send it to George for a KungFu shifter and a matte coating job on all the metal. Also need to yard that POS 4.5-14x off there and go back to 3.5-10x M1 with Badger's.
Secondhand Rose has rust on it's receiver and a veddy veddy nice gouge in it's shifter. It's belly is getting chewed too.
Sporty Spice's matte bead job, looks like [bleep] and it's HS bottom like I threw it out the crummy window, while doing 50. I always was a sucker for a 2-point field rest,it's a weakness of mine.
Prolly the Urban A2 is in the best shape,if only because it ain't that handy to yard around. Mebbe if they were all 18lbs,they'd be as purty?!?(grin)
Today looks to be a nice shooting day, mebbe me and JugHead will get crackin' and start scritchin'/scratchin'............................

One can't get 'em mounted low enough......................

Might poke it on my Anschutz 54,for [bleep] and giggles.......................
