JHP should be .4515 for the bullet. Should work fine.
That's what my manuel says anyway. Were the first bullets you tried cast lead?

Understand. Next time I'm at one particular LGS I'll see what they have on hand. Most of what I see are gas check type cast. I'll get you some and send, if legal in your state.

You are lucky. My blackhawk measured .449. Local gunsmith reamed them for $35

I guess I'll call a local guy here tomorrow he specializes in pistols Sucks to buy a brand new pistol and have to pay to have chambers reamed, don't mind spending $ if it for something to customize it like grips or a sight but damn how hard can it be to drill the right size holes! This is the smith http://www.burntmillengineering.com/

I don't know if I would ream out 451 throats. My decision was easier because a 451 speer wouldn't even come close. If it takes a lot of pressure for the 451 speer and the 452 cast is a no go, then I think I would. You're right about how hard is it to have the correct size throats. From what I hear it isn't just ruger either

I had to pound the crap out of it with the dowel and hammer to get it thru way too tight

That'll be a heck of a pig killer, and from what I read those BFR's are some fine shooting revolvers, there will be no bouncing off bullets with that model!!!!!. Gunner
