Nice dogs hunts and TWR.
No calling for me this weekend but I'll try again next weekend. Put a 10X on the .17 last night and she's zeroed and ready...

My wife wanted to try some fresh pork recipes... So we were off to Texas last week.. First one fell to the .270 140 grain Serria HPBT.. A .30-30 would have worked as well...

Second one took an 85 grain Sierra HPBT from the .243 in the ear... She had her fresh pork.. I figure it cost about $10/pound, but it sure was fun...

$10 a pound field dress, carcass weight or retail product basis?
either way the fun has a lot of value too.

cowpoke, just took a guess.. Neither was very large.. the black one was 125#'s dressed the spotted one was 80... Most expensive pork I ever got, but by far the most fun.. Will probably go again next winter..

WyoCoyoteHunter,
I was being tongue-in-cheek with my question. I got a chuckle out of your comment about the cost per pound for the pork.
I appreciate you sharing your successful pig hunt on the forum here.

Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

Going to see the fur buyer tomorrow. Should be a good payday. Coyotes were on fire at the CO auction Friday.

No Don, I was keeping up with it over on Tman.com. Coyotes went last so for some reason there was a bidding flurry. They went for 70-80. Cats didn't fair near as good:( Funny how Coyote prices are "on fire" when they finally get above 1970's prices? I'll probably go to the Fallon auction. It's a long drive for six narrow bellied ID cats and one greasy Coon but gas prices are down and I'll get to visit with some of my old friends I haven't seen in years. Might even dust off the ol 17Rem and do some Coyote hunting.

Pretty snazzy shootin' iron you've got there Don... Charlie, good luck if'n you go calling and hope you get enough from your hides for that canoe.. We saw 6 coyotes on our run to Billings today.. For once, no rifle in the truck(inexcusable). They're up and moving, Nash and I are planning our mode of attack for tomorrow morning..

This just in from IN, my friend back there got this marauding ditch panther the other day.. Looks like it could be big enough to tangle with one o' them big, bad gophers like Don's got down in Colorado.... Ben
