The last time I was up north during a heavy snowstorm the only vehicles I saw in ditches or wrecks or whatever, all had license plates from the northern states.
I did not see one license plate from a south of the mason line in a ditch or in a wreck. Statistically, that's what should happen. The percentage of vehicles by area in that locale would determine that. But if you get ice in Atlanta, you get more limbs down versus an area with regular ice. More vehicles on road. Less preparation for ice/snow, more situations. I drove across Virginia back roads because 64 to Richmond closed from ice. We stopped a convoy to chainsaw trees/pull from road and I actually saw a tree branch take a couple out.

Had a conversation last week with a sheriff dep. as I was paying for fuel. He said it was more the older peeps going in the ditch, not the 16 year olds with a fresh license.

When you boys figure out what liver mush is, get back to me. In the meantime I'm having a slug burger. same as scrapple bish...if you fookers would read the entire thread....geez. Nope, nice try though. You can't have livermush without liver, but you can certainly have scrapple without liver. Yup, I believe by law (NC?), livermush must contain at least 30% liver. For scrapple we just threw in anything from the hog that was left over and would fit in the kettle. Yummy!

They are telling us to expect up to 10" around here. With such a bold prediction they will most likely miss it entirely. It has happened before. If so my kids will be crushed.

wildbill59, Future Darwin Award Winner, God help the children you have guided into adulthood. Easy now Ms. My son moved to Tallahassee last Fall for his PHD. He's available for driving lessons on the side. He thinks it's funny when the locals panic about cold weather. The road by his place has trees growing right up to the road edge and then there's the ditch inches away. Make a mistake and you're toast. The daughter just married a guy that's going to be a hose dragger. He wanted to be a game warden cop but changed his mind thankfully. He found out he'd have to be an azzhole to be a cop. She's getting her Master's and pretty smart too. I'm guessing the kids got mommas brains, for sure.

And going back to the old MAYO THREAD a few months ago. I am willing to try Blue Plate, but you should really try JFG mayo its awesome stuff. hey bruinruin. But but but, he started it. grin Nabs are peanut butter crackers...best if they're made by Lance. Nope best is Nekot. I thought Nekot was made by Lance. Either way, still good! They are made by Lance, probably in Columbus, GA I was just saying they are "cookies" not "crackers" that's why they are so sweet and delicious Mike

Oh my waistline knows I've hit the homemade tea cakes too hard this Fall/Winter.
These snacks are just a good quick breakfast or midday snack on the fly.

Darwin Award nominees are made in $hitty icy, freezing rain kind of weather. Egos, something to tell my buddies, I can do anything you can't do, I am going to show them, born an a$$hole die an a$$hole attituders, all major contributors to the death toll in an ice/winter storm. When they take their own lives, no my problem Joe, I don't giving a fly fig, when they take the lives of Husbands, Wives, Children, Mothers, Fathers, Grandfathers, Grandmothers, and other innocent souls, they are not worth a piece a $hit, and should damned for all eternity.
If there is a choice, stay home, there is not a buddy, bottle of booze, or piece of snatch worth dying for, and definitely not worth killing for.... Many have died after that elusive piece of snatch!! And most not due to bad weather. In all seriousness, as usual, she is spot on. Many a day in the five years we lived in Calgary that I just worked from home. Simple really.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

Yep, prediction for Northern Virginia is about a foot of snow. I expect the Federal Government to close today when the first flakes fall. All of DC will be shut down tomorrow. Take those that creep at the first sign of snow & the commuters that continue to drive like a bat out of hell & there are accidents every where. Unfortunately, I work in security & will have to be in DC tomorrow.

Well, back to the original topic. It's about to hit the fan, apparently. 2nd wave hits tonight and predictions are for up to an inch of ice in some areas with anywhere from 4-12" of snow. With all the trees and power lines under them, lots of power outages. I think most people got the message from the last "event" and are staying off the roads, but lots of homes will be without power for a while. Yeah, they showed the potential of all that on this am's newscast. I sure hope you all don't lose power for any length.. Of all things, I think that would be the worst..
