Well, I thought the hunt left something to be desired, but I would draw the line at making fun of a guy because he needs a kidney. Or had other physical impairments. YMMV.

Hunt enough and you will eventually miss. Maybe by a little, maybe by a lot. One of the reasons I like Craig Boddingtons writing is he admits to and wrotes about misses, wounded animals, and failures when they happen.
Except Boddington can shoot.

Will a bigger gun be used next year since CLEARLY this Tyran-a-sore-ass(ask the bear) didn't get the job done?
I mean it WAS 270 grains and you were glad you had all of them.
Hell, I can ass shoot a bear with a .22lr. I can cleanly kill a bear with a .223.

just saw the tale scattered over (oops, I mean ALL over) the forum.
1. Saw a bear at a friends spot.
2. Ass shot bear with uber unit.
3. Phoned a friend.
4. Went home.
5. Came back with another friend.
6. Friend found bear.
7. Friend killed bear.
8. Friend took hero shots of me.
9. Friend hauled bear.
10. Friend gutted bear.
11. Friend skinned bear.
12. I wrote up multiple entries on internet forums of my awesomeness.

Well written. He didn't kill anything. He just wounded an animal and then had to call a guide to come in and clean up his mess. Let's don't forget the part where he offers to give meat to anybody that wants it, except the one friend that was recently in his house but got none offered. Well, I'd give away meat that was left in the woods on a hot night too. Damn'd if I'm going to eat it.

I agree, it sounds like a lot of these guys either never hunt, or hunt from a tree stand over a bait station. If you have never been on a hunt that turned into a bit of a goat rope because of a bad shot, you just don't hunt much. All the MR perfects don't fool any of the real hunters on this website.

Some tales better left untold... This is my take as well. It's not that a bad shot happened because they'll happen to all of us. It's the manner in which the story was told that leaves a sour taste in peoples mouths.

Us conservatives love to pile on. The dog pack mentality is alive and well on the Fire. Anyone who hasn't made a mistake on a hunt hasn't hunted much but some feel they can rectify their sins by attacking others. They can remember to take care of the board in their own eye, and that refers to mistakes other than in the hunting field.
