I don't need to look it up because I see people every day. I even see some that I know well enough that they've said what they weigh.

Smokepole is correct, but what the charts do not take into account is muscle mass and build type...probably compiled by skinny little rat like creatures in the insurance industry.

Another mistake. I thought On the Beach was a fictional story.

No mate, your only mistake that I can see is thinking you could use race and colour to embarrass me into submission...control and ridicule does not come that easily.

That's how I used to think. I ran the numbers on myself and came up as "overweight.". No way, and my wife and friends agreed. Then I dropped 15 lbs. And a few inches.

This has been in the news here lately. A study was done here in Colorado, which is consistently among the lowes. Of the 2 or 3 US states in terms of the percentage of the population that's overweight or obese. The results of the study showed that most people have lost the ability to correctly judge what is overweight or obese.

How can that be? It's simple--most people are overweight. If you ask the average person if they consider themselves overweight, they'll invariably say no. If you ask them if they could stand to lose 10 pounds, they'll say "of course, can't e erybody?"

Being ten pounds over weight is not obesity...and having some skinny little rake that has never done any heavy lifting tell everyone that they need to lose weight is somewhat insulting.

There is a dumpy little Indian bitch that is passing herself off as a doctor here that gets her jollies telling everyone they need to be built like some anorexic Ethiopean...I have been waiting for the news that someone has finally beaten her to death with her stethoscope.

That said, the last female Indian doctor we had here seemed to get her jollies rubbing her hands all over my back and shoulders...she was one weird piece of work, and am thinking they all are.

"overweight" Over what? What matters is your body fat percentage. 15% is optimal, unless you engage in some sort of athletic endeavor that demands less (but that isn't necessarily healthy)

Like maybe hauling out a bear that your friend shot for you.

Body fat percentage Is an excellent indicator. Ask the members here if they know theirs. A small percentage may. If they do, most likely they're not overweight.

Not many will be at or below 15% either.

Mine is 19%, at 170#, that means I'm seven pounds overweight. That pretty much jives with what I see in the mirror.

I would add that, if you can do 10 dead-hang pullups, you can most likely skip the body fat percentage, as that'll be the first thing to go when you get too heavy, unless you are one cock-strong SOB, and in that case, it probably doesn't really matter anyway.
