I'm putting together a rifle from some parts I have on hand. Remington 700 L/A, I have a couple barrels just haven't decided on caliber yet. I would like to stick a decent stock on it, was looking at the B&C Alaskan TI stocks but want to go ADL. Stockys list a ADL but requires some fitting. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these stocks. I would like to find a Remington Ti take off stock but haven't had any luck finding one. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS

FWIW...

I've installed two HS Precision stocks on Rem. 700s, one L/A 25.06 and one S/A 6mm Rem. Both were drop in fits, no fitting required. That said, the extra step of "skim bedding" is probably a good idea, particularly with regard to firmly positioning the recoil lug with the stock.

On the 25.06 I went the extra step of replacing the bottom metal with one from Williams. IMHO, the original Remington one is a piece of junk, vastly inferior to the Williams, which includes an Oberndorf release. They actually make 'em to specifically fit the HS stocks. Can be order "white" or blued. I ordered mine blued (meaning matte black), and it perfectly matched the rebluing of the rest of the rifle I'd had done a couple months earlier.

Those stocks are for the thinner MT rifle barrel channel. You can order one and open up the barrel channel. I used to own one of the SS ADL MT rifles. Ordered one for it, it should have been a drop in, but the holes drilled for the actions screws didn't line up.

In my experience the B&C Medalist stocks are decent. The Ti and the stock you're considering are junk. They do not use the aluminum bedding block in those and they are very weak. You will be much better off looking for a factory ADL synthetic takeoff. They are better stocks.
