No fish were harmed today. Took a wrong turn through a cut and spent a hour slowly putting a 21gt fiberglass bay boat through 1.5-2' of water and mud. Finally made it back to deep water where we wanted to go and not 2 minutes later, spun the hub in the prop and got to sit in the 92 degree heat and 100% humidity until the sheriffs dept boat came along and towed us back to the boat launch. Got the boat fixed and going to hit the jetties and intercostal ship channel tomorrow morning for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder, and whatever else we can catch! Give me another couple days in this heat and humidity and my trigger finger will be itching again. Might go down to the famil's pond and shoot some snakes and turtles though!

Ain't this heat and humidity nice! Live and worked in the south all my life and still hate it! Was in Corpus Christi a few days ago,hot and humid, kinda like the last 50 summers!

We've had a new family move in and there seems to be several of them. Kinda cheeky bunch...they kept whistling at me when I introduced myself to one of the young ones this morning.

Just hit the killing fields myself today. It was a .17HMR day, and I was gonna take a couple kill pics for this thread but they were just plain too nasty sick

Anyway, theres a little line of gophs ascending to Gopher Heaven tonight grin

They were! I am one of those that usually like a pretty clean picthere were none to be had today.. sick

Had a good shoot though, a bit of equipment, homes etc relatively close by so we stuck to .17HMRs to keep the noise and ricochets at a minimum. Landowner was likin' that .

I agree for the most part... A little gore goes a long way in pictures... But the ones that end up clean are the ones that were the least fun to shoot! grin

Glad you had a good time. What kind of HMR were you shooting?

It's not about "good" enough, it is about "wood" enough...
