bsa back in the day there were a LOT of guys whose shooting involved almost nothing but cast bullets, and the 35's were among the most popular for the purpose. Seems fewer do it today, but there are still some avid cast bullet shooters around.
The 280 Remington is overbore.
The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.

By "avid", you mean old.. ..Just kidding Bob . I have some cast bullets (215gr.) I want to try in my 338 winny.. The guy that gave them to me, said his dad killed a bunch of deer and elk with his pre 64 Alaskan with those cast bullets. I'll bet they are great for plinking and a lot easier on the shoulder..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

BSA, one of my best friends does not feel like he is saving money, beating the system unless he only buys powder and primers! That gun is so rare I would shoot it just to get the itch over but I would not bang it to death. WAG less than 15 were made IF that many! very best WinPoor

Yes that's the whole point to cast shooting.....cheap, high volume round count. These guys like fiddling with the molds, different mixes of lead and tin and stuff to experiment with hardness....they get a huge hoot out of it.Their garages and basements are loaded with buckets of wheel weights and other discarded lead to melt down. I can see some old codger from the pre 64 era ordering a NM or target rifle just to play with cast bullets.Barrels last forever from what I am told.
