Sauer 101 .30-06 with Recknagel sights and cerakote finish 180 grs federal fusion factory ammo 120 meters (~130 yards) - female red fox kit ...but the main point is that it was a wonderful sunday morning 10/4 I quite understand. When folks ask me why I hunt, it is sometimes hard to explain the exhilaration that comes from being "afield". Taking game is only a part. Enjoying the beauty of the day coming to life...... Catching critters in their "un-awares" or bearing witness to the approach of the gloaming also, FWIW, I am a fan of the Recknagel mounts........... and Kipplaufs. I picked up my first Sauer a while back, a model 200...... took a medium sized hoglet on its maiden outing......... a wonderful rifle. Best, GWB

Beautiful pics
That Sauer is wearing a nice set of wood. IMHO the 200 is superior to the 202. Good choice.

This thread has been pretty quiet lately so I thought I'd post a picture of my .257 Weatherby out for a walk. [img:center] [/img]

This is two Lee Enfield sporting rifles in the Lee speed style that I just finished stocking and while they are not out near a post as yet they are definitely built as hunting rifles and will be as soon as load development is done.

Nice looking Lee Enfields VonGruff. Did you rebarrel or keep the originals?

The top one (mine) is original while lower one I did for my friend and has had a rebarrel with a Lithgow target barrel with has aftermarket front sight having a green fiberoptic insert.

mtcurman; That's a good looking rifle and nicely done photo with the burn in the background. We've learned to use burns quite effectively for hunting over the years and once the smoke has gone view them as a good thing overall. Anyway sir a few pages back I posted a photo of my old school coyote bomber built on a 98, so I thought I'd show you and the 'Fire my latest project as it stands this morning - a "new school" coyote and rock bomber so to speak. It's a Ruger American standard model in .223 with the 1:8 twist barrel along with a Bushnell 3200 10X on top. The scope, paint and cheesecloth wrap on the barrel are fresh as of this morning so I can't report on that yet. So far with the first 6X Leupold I had on it, initial testing seems to indicate it wants to shoot bullets of at least 60gr. I picked up the last box of 75gr Hornady Match in the "big" store up the valley, so that's the eventual goal for this rifle to launch at coyotes and misbehaving rocks this winter. Anyway mtcurman, all the best to you and your family and good luck on your hunts this fall. Dwayne
