Then again, you might be right in that it's a regional thing.
America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Then again, you might be right in that it's a regional thing. Don't confuse your States, wherever that may be, with others. In most States, a "Sheriff" has no more legitimate authority than any other LEO. In Texas, for instance, all LEO's have EXACTLY the same authority and jurisdiction. The difference is that a Sheriff is tasked, by law, with jailing prisoners.
The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal that thinks they're a conservative.

In most States, a "Sheriff" has no more legitimate authority than any other LEO. In Texas, for instance, all LEO's have EXACTLY the same authority and jurisdiction. The difference is that a Sheriff is tasked, by law, with jailing prisoners. It doesn't take the "Constable of Precinct 1" to arrest him either. That's a huge myth in Texas. I'm sure some constables have gotten elected because of it...
