I like the Laredo work boots.

My last pair of work boots were Redwings. Wore them for two years, then Retired!!! Still have the boots and they are still in good enough condition for chores around the house, such as cutting firewood. Virgil B.

I put 40-70 hours a week in my redwings and will always recommend them unless something changes with them. Irish Setters are good boots and what I use for my hunting boots when it's cold.

Somebody will have to show me where i can find these good US made redwings. All I ever see in the store is chi-com throw aways. I've heard of the epic US made redwing work boot, I've also heard about a critter named bigfoot.... Both elude me

You have to go to a factory store to find the USA made boots. Look

Lowa
http://www.lowaboots.com Got my first pair of Lowa boots this spring. Most comfortable boot I've ever worn. So far, they are wearing great and have been over some really crappy terrain and slop.

Another vote for Lowas if you don't need safety toes. I use the Desert Zephyr and Renegade GTX. They are also excellent hikers and hunters. mike r

I had the version of those prior to that sole. Bought in 2000 or so for $109, inflation hasn't been good to boot prices. Put 3 sets of heels on them and the main sole was still good. The leather in the foot finally disentegrated. My all time favorite pair of boots that is no longer made.

When my White's wear out, if I live that long I will go back to Double H. The White's were hell to break in and double H break in the day you put them on. I agree, that sole is tougher than any other I have worn. But be ware. I saw Double H boots made in China about a month ago.
