That little .25-20 is a wonderful loafing rifle. Had one in the 1894 Marlin.. Should have never let my elk hunting buddy talk me out of it.. Enjoy..

I'm a 25-20 fan too. Fun little cartridge.

Yep, it's a takedown... Pretty slick little rig. .25-20 is such a pleasurable little round to shoot. Maybe I should stunt shoot my deer next year with it.... I've got a friend who's a rancher out here, and his grandpa's go-to rifle was a .25-20 '92, and he killed just about everything in Eastern Montana with that back in the old days... That rifle could tell some stories.

Did some gopher shooting one day with an old Savage bolt action in .25-20....it was indeed a nice little round to shoot.

I know a Lion hunter that uses an old Winchester pump gun in 25-20 to dispatch treed Cats. I've wanted one every since I saw his but I sure wouldn't turn my nose up at a lever gun. Let me guess,,,, those Bunny's ended up in a meat pie.

Charlie, not yet, but they're headed there shortly... A pump .25-20 would be slick. Ingwe, I didn't know there were any bolt action .25-20's made. When would it have been made(roughly)? '20's or so?

That's the one you let me shoot right?
That thing was bad ass once I figured out what the lever thing underneath does.

Travis Yes, it's the same one.. When you come out here, I'll let Mini-flave shoot a rabbit with it, unless you think that would corrupt him.

There's quite a few of them in this part of ID. (Clearwater County, about half way between Orofino and Lewiston) Nothing like the south but there's pockets of them. I have about a dozen living on my place so I thought I'd see what they taste like. Never killed or ate a Squirrel before. I also have a Grouse I killed yesterday and I plan to shoot a Cottontail either this evening or early tomorrow. They should be edible after that hard freeze last week. Gonna make me a multi-meat pot pie.

Cool beans. The squirrel tastes like rabbit, only more of the same flavor. Are they protected there or like here, considered an invasive specie?

I wasn't sure so I looked it up. They're considered unprotected like Coyotes so you can shoot them whenever you want. No season, no limits. I don't know anyone that hunts em though.
These are feeding on my Plumb/Prune trees and a neighbors Walnuts so hopefully they'll taste good.
