Once again this thread proves that the difference between truth and fiction is that fiction has to be somewhat believable to be good.

I was the Police for 34 years before I retired awhile back, and I still would not let them ( even the ones I know ) in my house or search without a warrant. And I like most all of them. No warrant - no entry.

And like a couple of others, I think me and the Boston Police would have had some real issues if they had tried that forcible entry stuff here.

You know where a cop's boots have been? That's reason enough to not want them in your house.

My girl friend son has a felony against him, is By Polar and has epilepsy.

I have guns in my home and I was told by his Ex parole officer that he would never be allowed to live inside my home and I could not live with him any how.

He did not deserve the felony that was handed to him and with his medical condition no one will hire him for a decent job. He is homeless and a good kid at 36 years old.

I can not in good consonance let him sleep in the rain so I let him sleep in my boat that I have not had out on the water for over 8 years.

He try's real hard at making it on his own but with out a real and steady job he can not afford to pay for a roof over his head.

One day I hope something breaks for him.

Good luck with him, hopefully things will start to click with him someday soon.

funshooter -

I liked the second part of your posts best -
The young man who is bi-polar and is just trying to get along however best he is able to.
And your helping him just shows that you got a good heart and a good head.

I've had some run-ins with law Enforcement years ago, some good and some not, but things turned out OK - and me too.
I have more respect for many law officers that I have met or encountered through the years, that are beyond compare.

One big tough cop got me once, and in court the judge called me before the bench,
and hollered to the cop standing in the back of the court room, demanding,
"Did this kid give you a bunch of huff-and-buff too when you arrested him?"
The big cop marched down to the bench, laid his hand on my shoulder, smiled, and boomed to the judge,
"NO SIR YOUR HONOR - HE WAS A GENTLEMAN ALL THE WAY!"

The judge looked down at me, smiled, and threw the book at me anyway.

What are the odds every cop/ex cop on the campfire - or probably anywhere, although unwilling to allow their fellow comrade cops to enter their home for search without warrant, have all at one time or another requested to search a home or a car without a warrant?

To the OP, you ought to make friends with some of the California members here; theyre not near as brainwashed.
