FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

You will be staying at the ADL Seven Hunting Ranch, LLC. You can check out the amenities on our website, www.adl7ranch.com.

We are located at 3745 County Road 4006, Crystal City, Texas 78839. For directions, visit our website, click on directions and you will see a map along with driving instructions. If you arrive in Texas early, we suggest staying overnight in downtown San Antonio, along the river walk, or there are hotels within ten minutes of our ranch in Crystal City (Winter Garden Inn, 830.374.0300 or Riata Inn, 830.374.5665) and in Carrizo Springs (Texan Inn, 830.876.9090).

Where are the nearest Commercial and Private airports?

The nearest commercial airport is the San Antonio International Airport, or Laredo Airport, both are approximately a two hour drive to the ranch. Most of our customers rent a car at the airport and drive down, however we do offer a 13 passenger van shuttle service for $600 round trip (subject to change due to rising fuel cost), this must be reserved in advance. The nearest Jet-way airport is in Carrizo Springs, TX, only 25 minutes from the ADL7 Ranch.

HOG HUNTS - Require a 50% deposit per hunter, these hunts are conducted most any time of the year with great success. Deposits are non refundable.
WHITETAIL DEER HUNTS Require a $1,500 deposit to cover the 3 day stay, these hunts run from October February 28.
EXOTIC HUNTS Require a $500 deposit per hunter and are conducted year round depending on the species.

Can I buy an extra hunting day?

Yes, if there is availability. One extra hunting day can be added for $300 per hunter and this allows one additional hog on hog hunts.

Can I add a non-hunting guest?

Yes, the cost is $250 for the three day/two night package or $125 a night. This price includes lodging, meals/drinks and maid service at the end of your visit. It does not include tip for the staff (kitchen, hostesses, and housekeeping) of $60 per guest which will be collected in the office at check out time.

How much is a Texas Non-Resident Hunting License for hogs and/or exotics?

The state of Texas charges $48 for a five day non-resident adult license (17 years of age and older) and $7 for a youth license (16 years of age and younger) plus a 10% processing fee if purchased at the ranch.

Once you have dates reserved and confirmed through e-mail, please use the registration located on our website, fill out the required hunting license information and we can issue your Texas hunting license here at the ranch; upon arrival.

If you want to purchase your hunting license in advance, you can do so by calling Texas Parks and Wildlife, 1.800.895.4248, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 am and 6 pm, or online at Texas license connection or purchase them on your way to the ranch at many convenience stores, Wal-Marts or sporting goods stores.

What time do I check in and check out?

Check in time is 1 pm (no earlier) and check out time is 11 am (no later). It is important that we have this time to prepare our rooms for new arrivals.

Items not included in the hunt:

Processing of your meat, shipping of your meat and trophies, hunting licenses & tips for your guide and staff.

How much is processing?

Processing is done by Uvalde Meat. $87.00 per hog, exotics $0.75 per pound dressed carcass weight, whitetail deer $89 each. If you would like a custom cut, please contact Mark at Uvalde Meat 830-278-6247.

How much is it to ship my animal meat?

Uvalde Meat ships via Fed Ex. A box holds up to 70 lbs and the shipping prices vary by state as stated below and are subject to change due to price increase or decrease with Fed Ex, the prices below reflect one 70 lb. box.

If you are flying and do not want to ship meat, you can purchase our cooler boxes with insulated Liners for $45 each along with gel packs for $5 each, and check the box and/or boxes with your luggage. Your airlines may charge an extra baggage fee. Or, you can donate your meat to Hunters for the Hungry for an additional fee of $50 per animal. This fee is for the processing of your meat for donation.

Shipping by State:

Alabama $115 Alaska $210 Arizona $113 Arkansas $103 California $143
Colorado $115 Connecticut $153 Delaware $160 District of Columbia $155
Florida $140 Georgia $115 Hawaii $215 Idaho $138 Illinois $115
Indiana $138 Iowa $118 Kansas $118 Kentucky $145 Louisiana $100
Maine $173 Maryland $155 Massachusetts $155 Michigan $138 Minnesota $138
Mississippi $115 Missouri $115 Montana $138 Nebraska $115 Nevada $115
New Hampshire $175 New Jersey $155
New Mexico $105 New York $160 North Carolina $145
North Dakota $145 Ohio $140 Oklahoma $110 Oregon $160 Pennsylvania $140
Rhode Island $160 South Carolina $145 South Dakota $145 Tennessee $140 Texas $60
Utah $145 Vermont $115 Virginia $145 Washington $158 West Virginia $140
Wisconsin $145 Wyoming $145

How much should I expect to tip?

All tips are just that, a tip, and should only be left if you are completely satisfied with the service our staff performed for you. The suggested tip for your guide is 20% of your hunt, but again this is totally up to you. We prefer for hunters to tip their guide directly. The tip for the staff (kitchen, hostesses and housekeeping) of $60 per hunter will be collected in the office at check out time. If you have any suggestions, compliments or complaints, please do so at check out time, as we are always seeking suggestions for improvements to our operation!

What should I bring?

We have a skeet range and provide clay targets, so you can bring your shot gun. We also have a shooting range. We have ponds stocked with catfish (catch/release program) and provide limited fishing gear, but you are welcome to bring your own. Do not forget a jacket, hunting weapon, ammo, binoculars, eye protection, ear protection, insect repellent & sunscreen. If you are a bow or pistol hunter please bring cover up scent to eliminate any odor for close range encounters.

What to expect on my hunt?

Hog hunts are 1-guide to 4- hunters and are performed from blinds (ground and elevated) overlooking feeders with some having LED night lights. Your guide will drop you off at your blind and pick you back up twice a day, morning & evening. The average shooting distance is 100 to 150 yards. The hogs we hunt range anywhere from 30 to 300 pounds, however the average hog harvested weighs between 100 to 150 pounds. Our hog hunts allow you to harvest up to 3 hogs up to 150 lbs each. Additional hogs up to 150 lbs can be taken at an additional $100 each. Trophy hogs 151 lbs to 199 lbs are an additional $200 each. Trophy hogs 200 lbs plus are an additional $300 each. We suggest using a .243 rifle or larger with some sort of illuminated cross hair because most of the hogs are harvested in low light conditions.

Exotic hunters will have guides with them while hunting to help identify species and to aid in judging trophy quality of your desired species.

We offer Rifle, Crossbow, bow, muzzle loader and hand gun hunts. All hunters will be required to shoot their weapons at our range before the hunt can begin. Please let us know if you are an archer or pistol hunter so we can have our bow blinds ready for you at least two weeks in advance of your hunt.

What should I wear?

We recommend camouflage. You should wear snake leggings during the spring and summer because though there is very little walking this is a good precaution when stalking or tracking.

Please check our weather link which is located on the home page of our website to help you with what type of clothing to bring.

Registration:

Once dates are reserved and confirmed through e-mail, please use the registration located at on our website. Make sure everyone in your group registers. The group name should be the name of the person who purchased the hunt and/or made the reservations. It is also important to enter the correct date of arrival.

How can I pay for my Invoice at check out time?

You can pay in the office. We accept cash, debit card, cashiers check, company check, personal check and travelers check, American Express, Discover, Visa and Master Card. Please note: There is a 5% Administrative fee on all transactions.

I have had two axis deer done by Uvalde meats and they may be the best game butcher I've ever used. Great vacuum pack and cut and packaged just like I asked.

well, time to move the VX-R scope to either the 6.8, or the AR-10, if I decide to night hunt for the pigs. 1 or 2 pigs is plenty for me, but what I would like a boar with good cutters for a Euro mount.

An axis doe might be real interesting, too.

I will add to the above Facts sheet that I have negotiate with the owner you are permitted any size hogs there is no extra for larger pigs
Keep in mind these are wild feral pigs and if you are looking for a trophy a big large tooth boar it's great, but it will eat like crap and be good for just sausage

Tony...it will be cheaper to fly unless it's just flying that you hate.

I think if you know your abilities and weapon you can bring what you like
We all know a .223 with a good bullet placed right kills a hog dead
I will verify that to be sure but I'm fairly certain it will be fine

I'm bringing a Mickey Coleman 7-08. It seems appropriate.

On the other hand, I'm not sure what I'm bringing for Ready - maybe I can find a 710 at the local Goodwill store ...
