Ok so I am fairly new to reloading but I got a question I am consistently getting 2 in and 1 out. First let me tell you the rifle Is a remington 700 cdl sf 30-06 in a bel and carlson alaskan ti I have shot imr 4064 and imr 4350 always 2 holes touching other one is out. What is causing this I'm shooting 168 Sierra hpbt 15 off the lands. Any ideas?

i.e. is it always the 1st or 3rd shot?

It seems like it is the 3rd shot Is your barrel free floated? I assume it is and the action pillared with the B&C stock? what's your cool down time between shots?

Assuming you have the velocity you want. Changing charge weight also if not. But only change one thing at a time.

That's why I always start at the lands, if I can. There is only one direction to go from there.

Yesterday I shot 47.5 and 48 of 4064 I got both groups 2 touching one out making it about 1.120. The barrel has those speed bumps that remington thinks they need at the top

So would it be ok to load up next charge of 48.5 10 off the lands rather than 15 off?

Runout? Bedding? COAL? Powder? Primer? Weak ignition?
Interesting that this always creeps up with a pile advice to fix it, yet it seems to never get 100% cured. One of the new fixes I've "heard" is no bedding under the shank.
Who the hell knows, curious to see how it plays out.

If you are .015 off the lands now, try .025. Sometimes it will tighten things up.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

When i shoot groups its one after the other. No waiting except to get the sight picture. Waiting lets your barrel change temps to much. Give this a try. I have always figured this would also be like shooting for game in the field. Animals wont give you 10 min. ED K

I had this problem with 200gr SMK's 30-06, I went with a different primer and it worked.
