This sounds like it's shaping up to be an absolutely miserable adventure.
I'm sorry to report that you guys will need to have too much fun this year without me.
Fortunately no health issues are involved, just scheduling and distance.

Because of the thick brush, and depending upon blind locations, seems to me one could call predators from their hunting blind, if they wished to do so.

I'm gonna shoot my pigs with a 270.  I had that same thought as well. Mine has a walnut stock, too... So does mine, 270 Winchester, an American Classic.

I keep having to screw around tuning & tinkering on "modern" rifles with synthetic stocks & chit. The .270 #1 puts 3 in 5/8" with the 2nd load I tried. The .475 Turnbull puts 3 in 9/16" with the first handload I try. And both of them look nice

LMAO, same here, I have an old pre-64 270 with a half smoked throat that will still run 150 gr Partitions to 1" at 2900 fps.

Im thinking this could be a dangerous trip.. Nothing a gallon of liquid advil, 50 lbs of ice, and a couple sets of good ear plugs wont fix.
