My latest project:
Hi, My father was a highly decorated company commander in the 28th division in WW II. He started out as a private in the Horse cavalry and advanced from enlisted to officer. He was also the only American to take part in the liberation of Paris with the free French (as he spoke French).
I decided it would be neat to make a tribute rifle for the 28th which is America’s oldest division, still serving in the PA Guard.

If you have not seen the movie When Trumpets Fade see it. It makes Saving Private Ryan look like a walk in the park.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_Trumpets_FadeStarted with one of the fine Marlin X7s in 30-06 (of course), painted and decorated it with the division motto, images of the famous “Bloody Bucket” and a patch listing all the 28ths campaigns
The Kahles is only on there to wring it out and is paint over masking tape. Probably put a fixed 6X on it down the road.
Hope you like it, Larry
