Sweet! that is a nice one!

Reloader 23 is now out in stores, I've scored a couple pounds already. Supposedly better temp resistance than 22.

ahhh...scope mounting on a #1. That's also interesting... grin

I found the old Burris Signature (and its Pentax partner) that had the adjustment knobs well forward about perfect. They had good optics for the day though a tad heavy. Still have one on an old 243 RSI.

I like to use the Ruger offset rings, unless the scope is unusually long, or is straight with no objective bell. One downside is they are only available in 1".

Yeah, I'd go with the AB's... I really like them. In my 270's those are the only bullets I can shoot that don't bounce right off of deer...

That's a sweet-looking No. 1, Dan! I'm really fond of the 6.5 Swede cartridge. I still have a M93 Swede in full military config in my gunsafe that I had intentions of sporterizing many years ago, but I've come to believe it's just too cool as it is to carve it up.

I'm thinking I'll bring my new 9.3X74R double rifle on this hunt, get some blood on it before I take it to Zim in August. That and the 1886 ELR I've had sittin' in the safe for 10 years and never shot one thing with it that wadn't made of paper or cardboard...

IMR 4064 is the only one I show on all weights you have.
Today you get to go powder shopping.

This idea from the powders shown in pic

Nope I'm showing H4831sc and Magnum for the 130 gr AB and
H4895 and Varget for the 125 Partition which means R15 will also work as will the 4064

This is the best picture I have of them.

Technically I could have gone with straight rings on that Loopey, which is a VX3 1.5-5 - but I had the offsets on hand.

On a short scope with any objective bell, though, at least one offset is a must with the Ruger 1/4 rib. I think they look better with 2 offsets.

Here's where you get them at Ruger:

Hodgdon shows 4350 making best velocity with 120's and 4831 with 140's. I'd be tempted to try Big Game first. They also limit pressure to only 46,000CUP, and the #1 can take a bit more - anything the brass can take.
