Has anyone seen a velocity gain after treating a barrel with DBC. Just chrono'ed some loads in 300WM that seems to be a little hotter overall that before the DBC treatment - a little over 100fps difference. I initially thought it might be temp related, but it was in the 40's this range session, vs. in the 80's before the DBC treatment. Same brass, powder charge, bullet - everything was the same except DBC (and the range temp).
Any thoughts?

I have never noticed any velocity gain in quite a few treated barrels, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.

Sometimes the lower sun angle during winter seems to cause some variations in the neighborhood of 50 fps or more on some identical loads with my Pro-Chrono. Just a thought. At my range I shoot from West to East. My chronograph sometimes quits working about 2:00 pm due to the sun angle.
I have not noticed any velocity difference due to DBC.

This. Getting the Infrared screen for my Chrony has been worthwhile.
I now measure in an indoor range with controlled lighting.

On this topic you might want to PM Jordan Smith, he will tell you exactly what you want to hear about DBC whether it be fantasy or reality.

WTF, DBC may be the best thing I"ve seen in my life to come down the pike barrel wise... Don't mind him, he's just butt-hurt for some reason. I'm not sure why though- I've never done anything to offend or attack him. Maybe he's just jealous because I hardly ever have to clean my barrels??? And OP, I'd echo what the other posters have said. I've seen neither a velocity gain nor loss, but I have seen chronographs give varying readings depending on light conditions.

I have not noticed any velocity difference due to DBC. ^^^^^ This is one plausible answer, I have a Pro Chrono as well, but I didn't notice any velocity changes for the other rifles I shot that day. I actually pulled the bullets on the remaining rounds as I was a good bit over regarding velocity with this load. When I first tested them, they were around 3080fps, this trip they were 3225! The load in question: 180gr Partition 85.0gr Ramshot Magnum Fed GM215M primer - Winchester case
