more of these tin bandaids are showing up from some goldish tan donor car...



cutting a "virgin" floor pan is way nicer than removing one that bubba stitched in 20 years ago.

I don't mind cutting crusted junk apart but I don't like cutting bubba's 2 ply stitch welds and golden band aid patches.

I think I maybe lost some eyebrow hair on this morning's sparky molten metal shower.

ND, drivers floor pan are easy fixes...

Pull up the floor mat and insulation- find a piece of aluminum 1/8" or so thick (I've heard that road signs are about that thickness)- cut amount needed to completely cover the bad area with plenty left around edges- use large hammer to "custom fit" aluminum to shape of floor plan- pop-rivet aluminum to floor- install insulation and floor mat.

It worked on my old, uhh, a old 4x4!

Just hose the whole thing down in Naval Jelly, let it sit a while, and see what you're left to work with.

Dave,i didn't know that Fred drove a Mustang.

Just think about driving with that cobbled up floor pan at high speed.
Must have used a lot of shoes to stop.

Why yes indeed, that IS a copper fuel line.





I ordered an inner rocker for this thing on Wed, it should be here next Tuesday.




I didn't know if I would use a full inner rocker or not, but I can see I will be replacing it full length before these new torque boxes and floors etc go in.

I need a break from mustang.

I'm going to hop over to the 77f-2-fiddy.

Besides, I'm waiting on parts now to proceed on the mustang.

I believe this qualifies as "invasive surgical procedures".

It looks bad now, buy I really am saving this car, and its going to be awesome.

I'm pretty happy about this opportunity, its a huge challenge and I freaking love it!

You're darn near building a new car around the VIN plate. Reminds me of some wooden boat restorations where there is more replacement wood than original.

Copper fuel line... I haven't seen one of them on a car in a long while, and never on a car that didn't have a stainless fuel tank and modified carb for burning "high performance, non-petrol fuels".

That's basically an 1100 lb car right now with all the rust.

I'm not sure it weighs 800 right now

Damn.....I do believe that thing could give my old 66 Charger a run for the money in the rust bucket challenge.

For all y'all afraid of this one, you've obviously never owned a Jeep.

I've been around enough jeeps to know that is truth.

I used to have a CJ5 with structural floor mats.

I had a 72 bronco that was repaired by the same guy that did this Mustang. I swear, had to be be the same guy, there can't be two bubbas that like to F up good old Fords that bad.
