FC and I are in Texarkana for the night. Got to make miles all day tomorrow and no time to visit anyone on the way.
Dan, thanks again for setting this up. It was great in spite of the weather. And thanks to you and Pat for cooking up Roger's shrimp and fish. Thank you, Roger. I wouldn't have said this in front of Lois, but y'all cook better than her and she's pretty good.
Speaking of that ostrich, I'm pretty sure that he and and his buddy aren't going to survive the change in ranch ownership for very long. If Lois had had a pistol the other day, we would have drumsticks for supper that night.

Ditto, to all. Cal74: I-35N sucked HARD 'til we got well past West, TX (no time to stop for kolaches ) Tide + Wtxj: Buc-ee's is a surprisingly neat place. Their bathrooms are as clean, as the one we found in LaPryor was nasty. I swear, I've never been in a barn that gross. Tjm: the food was great all around, with Roger & Pat's seafood feast being easily the best I've ever had. Theretofore, I had thought that Snapper was just a punchline. Great company, as always. The hogs took some finding, for sure. And this hunt just might be the catalyst for me to get off my cheap ass and buy a range finder. Ready seemed to fit in just fine. I'm not sure he can officially be certified as Turdlike, yet - perhaps the Poobah can weigh in. And Bristoe, to the best of my recollection, no one chit their britches while trying to light a fart at this years 24HCF hog hunt. FC

Sorry to hear it Dan. I hate being at the mercy of an airline. The drive was a bastid, but not as bad as being stuck in an airport or two.

Made it to Wichita, took almost 13 hours to get here and about 10 1/2 hours of that was heavy traffic. Figure that was an extra 2 - 2 1/2 hours because of traffic.
Saw three people take the ditch right in front of us because they'd ride right up the next guys a$$. If you've got more than a car length ahead of you, someone has to cut in.
Anyways, good to meet everyone and shoot the chit with many of you. Once I get settled in at home, I'll post a few pics. Didn't take the best pics of my pig as I thought I'd have some in better light.
Safe travels to everyone else still on the road.

Just a bit north of Davis, traffic came to a standstill, stretching for three miles up a hill and out of sight. After that, things went south, literally and figuratively. Good luck with the rest of the trip. --Bob

I just managed to snap a few pictures with my phone during the trip. On the way down, we swung over and visited with Ed and his bride on their beautiful farm. While we were there, we were able to feed the horses with Ed, and he took time to teach Lawson and me a few things about horses that neither of us knew, not having ever spent time around them to speak of.

Our next stop was San Antonio, where we joined up with Bob, Dan and Pat. We also got to meet Ironbender and his lovely bride, and we got to meet Birdwatcher, who is the genuine article when it comes to knowledge of San Antonio and its' history. It was obvious talking with him, that he really loves his home town. On Wednesday morning, Pat was gracious enough to guide Lawson and I on a tour of the Alamo. Apparently, last week was Spring Break for a bunch of area schools. There was a line waiting to tour the Alamo, but it moved along quickly enough. I was pleased to see a list of do's and don'ts posted in the area where the line waited to get in. Gentlemen will remove their covers. There will be no loud talking. No photography inside, etc. The last line said "No unauthorized weapons, CHL holders are excepted." I gotta say, I was thoroughly pleased with the attitude of Texans from the time we drove in, till the time we drove out. Been a long time since I saw such level headed thinking on the part of so many. During the tour, I was proud to see the names of 13 Kentuckians who were volunteers at the Alamo.
