The only time I ate at a Ruth's Chris was at the one in Georgetown, while I was on a business trip to DC. There was no soap in the men's room, and even after I called it to their attention, nothing was done. Sort of grossed me out, and made the dining experience less appealing.
I don't have extensive experience dining at high end restaurants, but it's been my impression that a common characteristic is pretension, a lot of hype but the food, service, etc., don't justify the high prices. Not always, of course, but few seem to give fair value for what they charge.

I love the foodie prima donnas. Me too my niigga! I think the last time I went into a place and sat down to eat was 3-4 years ago. 2-3 times in the last 5 years. Of course I hit the McD's drive through a once or twice a month. And wings and mozzarella sticks from the hot case at the little casino beer joint off the highway. And a pizza from Town Pump 2-3 times a year. Applebee's is way too fancy....

I used to love a nice, fresh Indian taco.
Used to go to Applebee's in Bozeman, thought the food was fine.

I actually like eating applebees but its kinda a one or two times a year thing for me. Only have one restaurant here besides the bars and to drive anywhere to eat at one is over an hour away so it doesn't happen often. Then again I like just about any food.

I'm pretty sure Applebee's stays in business by being walking distance of somewhere else that people HAVE to go.

I can't remember eating at Applebees. Eating at Chili's in Fairbanks a few years ago after a moose hunt was pretty good.

I love the foodie prima donnas. I had some ham the other day that was damned good. It had been cooked in the crock pot in a glaze originally and the leftovers put in the fridge. I'd pulled out of the fridge and heated up in a cast iron frying pan to go with some home made noodles for supper the other night. Went to bed and forgot about putting the leftovers away. Of course the pan stayed hot, so it burnt the edges crispy on most of it. Ate it like candy for supper the next night.
I wonder if any of the $500 per piece of undercooked meat places offer a feast that good? Doubt it. You should get a job at Applebee's. You could be the head chef! Not sure why this pic comes to mind while reading this  : I make a mean grilled cheese.
