Rev, have you had a chance to try the Grom ammo yet?

Not the pics you are looking for but here is one of a rusty old 22h 7x57.

Yup,the leopard print thongs would be a sight to forget.

I haven't yet. I've had my hands full with the parish these past few weeks - people dyin', etc - but I have several boxes of it as well as several boxes of the Hornady 140 gr. Rigby cartridges. I'm hoping to get to the lease in the next week or so to try both. I'm really curious to see how the Grom performs. I might just try it in the Zastava first...just because they're both Serbian (I probably should have some Slovovitz or something to go with it).

That's probably true. You know, though, if you went to Mozambique you'd have to take that .300 HH. You just would.

Yep, the Grom should work fine in the Zastava as they probably know each other and the Slovovitz. I've had some the Grom loads on the shelf for a while but no experience with it yet.

I like double set triggers but they are probably an acquired taste. Shot the schuetzen rifles for a lot of years and the double sets were quite common.

My old business partner was Serbian and introduced me to that stuff. Wow, you talk about an acquired taste. I'm used to Black Bush Irish whiskey...that Serbian stuff will substitute for 93 octane.

How does that old rifle shoot? I like it!

Yup. With Cape buffalo and just maybe a leopard thrown in.

Won't spend no more than $500 for a wood stock(English walnut) and that'll be fine for me.

Let me know who's doing that, if you don't mind. I wouldn't mind having my Zastava Mauser "rigby'ed" but danged if I can find someone to even give me an estimate as to what it'd cost.

My wife's high school friend,he's a gunsmith.

The $500 is for the inletted stock,no labor,glass-bedding or fitting (if need be) in the price.

I told my wife that I might just get stupid and have the new Rigby company build me a Lindon Best. I expect I'll be sleeping in the garage.

Rev, I don't believe it's immune to burning barrels but fortunately this one just wasn't shot a lot. Got real lucky and picked up a 21f that shows virtually no wear via the bore scope.
They are out there, you probably need to snag one when you get a chance. I think you would enjoy using one of the old Brno's.
