This one would get the nod if season opened today as its the only rifle I have zeroed and ready. The others are in various stages of scope swaps or other work. 700ADL, painted factory synthetic stock, 6x36 Leupy.

MY best 2 groups, and it has shot under an inch every time with the load listed below

Ranger Arms 25-06 circa 1968 or so (yes it was built with that thumbhole stock)
Off the bench, elbows not a rest or bags at 100 yards, a dime covers the group.
Sightron 3-12 x 42 duplex (it came with a '60's Weaver TV set)
"Baby Bowie" by Ray Laconico in California ( a nice guy who makes great knives)

One of these three. 25-06 AI w/Leupy 6x, .308 Win with 4.5-14LR or 94 30-30. (I like deer hunting.)

I'd be walking out the door with my .223rem, only because my "go-to" rifle is still with the smith making it even more a "go to" rifle ...

it's my 7mm-08, that's being re-chambered to 7mm-08AI ... but she'll still look just like this when done, at least on the outside ... (grin)

ULA in .257 Roy. I bought the gun from Dave Petzal, and it had a shot out 7mm WBY barrel. So I sent it back to Melvin to be rebarreled.

I hope you got a good deal. It opens up on the wrong side.

Planning on taking the hawkeye 223 this season, but I still gotta work up a load.

So if the season opened today, it would be the same gun as last year. Just a 721 30-06 with a B&C stock an 3-9x40 VX-II
