I've been a die hard since I was 6 years old. Some great years. Many more lean years. I'm excited about Colt.

I'm not excited about my Skins.

I think tonight we get embarrassed again.

My biggest problem??? Cowboys fans in my house.

Enjoy the game, boys!

I'm sorry but the Cowboys are going to beat the Skins by double digits.

No worries Bob. Big Blue is racing your boys to the bottom of the NFC East.

it won't be the same if you type it

and I really wish the Skinz were having a better season so that you'd bet with me Bob.

if you lost (bwahahahaha, I made a funny, I used "if", I crack me up)

all I'd want is for you to record "Tony Romo's my daddy" and put it up on youtube while you hold a yorkie in each arm

with that said I think the Skinz are gonna shock the NFL nation tonite and make a good game of it and perhaps even WIN in JerryWorld

it's a heated rivarly, and these Cowboys aren't Jimmie Johnson's Cowboys, they've heard enough platitudes of late they should be about ready to lay an egg

either that or Demarco Murray runs through the Skinz like corn through a goose

As a long term 'Skins fan, I look forward to this game. Dallas is just about as lousy a team as Washington, so it might be a fair game!

Don't care much who wins as long as Demarco Murray carries much and scores lots

I'm a Cowboys fan, of course. I'm sure the" Boys" will
have no problem........but sometimes Dallas plays real
good teams real good.......Weak teams - to their level.
No matter what a Dallas game is always good.

Buckshot through a Goose
But:
I've suffered though too many of these games that went the other way to take much pleasure at the pain of 'skins fans if it goes as expected.
Anyway, with these teams throw out the book, sometimes the outcome is more about emotions than relative skill levels.

Posted By: Kentucky_Windage Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Yeah, so the cowgirls are on a roll thanks largely to a better-than-expected O line. These are the types of games where the favored team may be looking ahead and not totally focused -- not to the point of losing the game, but perhaps to the point of sustaining some key injuries. Call me a doubter, but I do not believe the cowgirls will still be performing at their recent level by the time the playoffs get underway. In fact, call that a prediction. ;-)

Dear Deeply Offended Redskins Haters: Actual Navajo Nation High School Mascot IS REDSKINS
9:21 AM 10/27/2014

FOLLOW ON TWITTER
A comprehensive review from 2013 shows that the United States is home to 62 high schools that have the Redskins as their athletic mascot. The majority of the students at three of those schools or about five percent of them are Native American.

The Washington Post sent an intrepid reporter briefly beyond the Beltway to find out what could possibly motivate students, parents, coaches and school officials at one of the schools: Red Mesa High School in the rural, isolated corner of northeastern Arizona.

Turns out its simple: They like their mascot just fine.

I dont find it derogatory, school district superintendent Tommie Yazzie told the Post. Its a source of pride.

Red Mesa student council president Mckenzie Lameman agreed.

Its not a racist slur if it originates from a Native American tribe, the junior told the paper. Its always used in the context of sports.

At a recent Red Mesa Redskins football, game, the Post reporter found dedicated parents stamping the bleachers and signs in the raucous, festive crowd reading Redskin Nation and Fear the Spear.

Theres more important things to worry about than Redskins, senior football player Arlo Begay told the Post.

Almost 90 percent of the students and over 70 percent of the teachers at Red Mesa favor keeping the Redskins mascot, according to a survey completed this month.

A 2004 poll by the Annenberg Public Policy Center poll concurs with this sentiment. That survey found that the Redskins name does not offend 90 percent of all actual Native Americans in the United States.

The feelings of the actual Navajo Nation members or actual Native Americans in general has done nothing to stop a very small but very dedicated group of deeply offended activists from lobbying the Washington Redskins football team to change its mascot or trying to force a name change through federal coercion.

This protest feels like its coming from one person, Red Mesa athletic director Al Begay told the Post.

Here we go! Anything can happen while Romo is on the field. Let's just hope good Romo shows up & not Bad Romo!

Do hope Colt McCoy has a good game, and a loss, though!

Washington Redskins are an insult to real redskins.

However, about the eight game every season it seems the division leaders fall to the lowest on the totem pole.

The big boys in Vegas like it that way.

It makes me nervous this is not a game D needs to win, besides Bobs prediction. frown

Good for the refs. They got that no call right for once.

Stupid play call by Gruden to go for it all in one play.

McCoy had a wide open D'Jax in the flats.
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Ole Colt should have ran that one, too. He's always good for at least 1 INT per game. But i'd bet my last dollar that he throws at least one or two TD's before this game is over. He's Definately a gamer!
Posted By: 4ager Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
How was that not a fumble out of the end zone? Are the refs watching the same game the rest of us are?

But then DC is such a melting pot that you always see a fair amount of visitor fan jerseys at all REDSKINS home games.

Redskins secondary is all busted up and a makeshift freshmen lineup of NCAA star Sophomores. They'll get there. Sure wish Sean Taylor was still around.

I've always hated the Cowboys, but I do love to watch Jason Witten. He is Class!

I sure never thought McCoy would survive big time NFL hits. He only weighed 165 in HS

McCoy is doing his best to get taken out..

Colt is awful good for his first biggie.
Posted By: byc Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Neal -- Colt has a nice awareness of what's going on around him. That's what Cousins lacked. He even looked back a couple of times to make sure his blockers had done their job before throwing.

Smart kid!

I don't know that I would let Romo come back in and play sick

Nice stop by Dallas, knocked em outta field goal range.

Delay of Game! STUPID!! crazy

That caused the Redskins to pass on 3rd and long...sack...no chance for points... Good Grief, Charley Brown! eek

JJ on the field and making decisions now. You know he don't look too good. Is he sedated??

Woooo hoooooo....MOMO is coming back in!!!

The loss should probably be hung on Brandon Weeden since he only managed a touchdown and a field goal. If he had just gotten two touchdowns, the game would never have gotten to overtime. (Please imagine that a sarcasm icon exists.)

For sure they are not in the class of NE or Denver, but getting in the playoffs would be a nice change of pace. Sheesh, everyone talks about how sorry the boys are and they get some help on the O line and win a few then all of a sudden they are the hottest team in the NFL No way Jose.

Dullazzz should have never put MOMO back in the game. Plain and simple. They had a much better shot with Weeden. Guess that's about the time JJ took charge and declared MOMO as his franchise.

REDSKINS played to the very end and never let up. That was the decision maker and where teams like SEA and Dulllazz are now coming up short.

Wins like this can 180 a team like the REDSKINS.
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
My nephew played football with him in HS. He still talks to Colt ever once in a while and keeps up with him. I don't.
I just always admired the kid through High School and College, because for his size, he could always make the plays, scramble, run the ball, and shake off the big hits. He has a lot of courage and has always played very well despite his naysayers. He has also shown class & character that most NFL players nowadays will never have!
Posted By: SandBilly Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14

I agree....on all points. Not sure what was wrong with the Cowboys. No idea why the PROFESSIONAL NFL Cowboys' coaches couldn't do whatever they needed to do to pick up the blitz. I mean it was every SINGLE freakin' play for I dont' know how many plays in a row. Somebody ought to be fired over that.

Redskins will probably dominate and win the Super Bowl....thanks to the Cowboys. LOL.

But still......if dumber-than-a-rock Dez catches that pass that was right in his hands IN THE ENDZONE........Cowboys win.

And if my aunt had a peter....she'd be my uncle.

The other NFL teams that Dallas will play this year will be blitzing Romo like crazy after seeing this game, tonight. And there were a few passes that Dez dropped that he should of caught.
I think the Cowboys got a little over confident and thought the Redskins would be a cakewalk. Lots of poor play calling by Garrett and poor execution by the players. Not a good game plan and they got beat plain and simple!

On that thought I'd like to know your thoughts on the cluster f at UT. I figured they wanted to follow in the footsteps of A&M, for what reason I know not. I figure they mis- calculated the benefit of summerlin vs johnny football.

Honestly, tonight was Washington's Superbowl and we get to play it again in DC late December and then receive a couple of great draft picks.

Dallas on the other hand is a complete and healthy team, which has a great shot as the NFC representative against KC, NE or Denver for the ring.

I like the Cowboy's chances over any other. Cards and Eagles are players for sure but......hang in there.
Posted By: 257heaven Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Yep. Garrett was back to not being too good a coach as was the offensive line coach. And I also saw 2 other passes that Dez should have caught.

Kinda' like all the other teams watching Dallas vs. Seattle and hopefully figuring out how to beat the Seahawks.

I'm almost positive that the Dallas coaches couldn't figure out how to stop the blitz if every team that Dallas plays for the rest of the season blitzes on every single play. And I mean that.

This somehow happens to them when they don't have to win, which is why Cosell hated them. They could lose to the worst but at the same time rise to the occasion if was necessary to remain in the equation.

TTU is a huge favorite against UT....and I honestly cannot figure that out. UT is going to kill TTU. Again.

I think if the Cowboys played the Broncos in the Super Bowl.....I'd root for the Broncos. Welker needs a ring.

You got that right Doc. Sumlin ain't ShiiTT without JF. And now it's showing!

UT's new coach has proved to be a bust, so far. Don't think the UT Alumni will put up with his black ass very long.

Me and a bunch of my fellow Aggie's are ready for Sumlin to be gone!
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
I called my little brother the Architect from T-tech on Saturday and told him he ought to burn all his Red Raider caps. Flat out embarrassing. They couldn't beat MoJo High, right now!
And I usually pull for Tech, unless they are playing the Aggie's.
Or course, my brother and my sister-in-law are already pissed at me because my nephew changed his mind and went to TAMU this year. cool
Posted By: 257heaven Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
I just hope Stidham stays with us. I believe he's the key. But I'll believe he's a Red Raider when he's on campus.....no sooner.

Posted By: 257heaven Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
And hopefully we will never agree to play TAMU again. As if they would want to play us anyway. LOL.

They should have to eat his crap for a decade. Will I never see a Royal winner at UT again?

What a waste of Texas talent.

There's a sports talk show on am radio Sunday am station out of FWorth or Dallas. . Hunting fishing etc.. they had Walt Garrison on last weekend and he related as to how after he became a great, he asked Royal on a bird hunting trip why he didnt recute him to UT. Coach Royal said, "Well Walt, when you were in high school you weren't worth a schitt ".
Posted By: chlinstructor Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
That's funny! Met Walt once. He had huge frickin hands! And was one hell of a bronc rider and rodeo star, too.

Ah, the good ole days of Dallas!
Posted By: eyeball Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Yeah, the good old days of the USA, too, ch.

An ex UT quarterback...in Arlington....against the Cowboys Sorry but I called this one week ago. Colt McCoy (can there ever be better name for a quarterback) was destined to win this one.....and I am a Cowboy fan!!
Posted By: 2muchgun Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Cosell? Not sure how you can relate these Cowboys to the Cowboys of that era. Totally different IMO, and they crammed a few SB wins in since then (unfortunately).........

Did Bob just "lock pick" the Cowboys? Have we not seen this end result before (McCain, Romney, etc.)?

Yep.

I am not surprised in the least, the 2-5 Redskin's kicked some Cowboy's ass....they are a long way from the team of the 70's and 90's.

Egos always get in their way. Between Jones and Dez........WOW!

Dez was dropping passes and yelling at Romo because he wasn't throwing to him. Sorry, Dez....but you're dumber than a rock and you dropped a pass in the endzone and we had to settle for 3.

Redskins took Whitten out of the game because he had to hang back and try to block the blitz.....ON EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN" PLAY! They better be thinking of an offense now that puts Whitten at wide-out and find 2 tight ends that can block, because they WILL be seeing a lot of blitz for the rest of the season.

Have a let down against the Saints....or even the Seahawks. Don't do that against a team in your division. Duh.

Congrats to the Redskins and Isaac needs to go and offer his expertise for the D's in 2016.

If I don't begin to receive accolades and thanks for my efforts, I'll sell LPE and all it's holdings to the Chinese.

I give you ingrates, for free, what hundreds upon hundreds of folks pay Bambi good money for.

I don't know how you do it Bob. The odds of the skins winning that game were astronomical!

Finally, someone gets the magic that is Bob.

Oh, I'm sure that McCain, Romney, Cuccinelli, and many others have "gotten that magic", too.

I for one appreciate your service to our country. grin

I also appreciate the fact that we are probably the only two along with Theisman who really believed that the REDSINS would win!!!!!!!!!!!! GO MF'n REDSKINS!!!!!

That was a bad azzzz win and we get to do it again in the last game of the season.
Posted By: isaac Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
I'm sure you remember what happened last time we had a great 2nd half of the season.

RGIII is becoming a bit nervous, I think.

I'm sure they will find you since I'm going to bury you in a way folks could park their bikes.
Posted By: OrangeOkie Re: Skins/Cowboys - 10/28/14
Should have left Weeden in the game . . .

Quote
Garrett said there were no second thoughts about putting Romo back in the game.

"Obviously Tony's our quarterback," Garrett said, "so if Tony's healthy and ready to go, he's going to play."

A bad $100m contract tends to cloud good judgment

Boy did I miss the mark on this one. blush

Congrats to the Skins, that blitz scheme killed the Cowboys most of the night.

Why the Boys didn't continue to let Murray run the ball is baffling, especially in OT.
