Only propulsion to allow it to move around the turret and lock in place for offloading LNG. As it will be fixed to the seabed via the turret for 25 years there is no need for anything more. So, it will be a large, floating central facility where hydrocarbons are gathered and piped to there for distribution? No. It is an LNG plant that takes gas from multiple wells in the reservoir, cleans and liquefies (freezing to reduce the volume by 600 times) it to allow transport on an LNG tanker to be delivered to Asia. A pretty complex facility on land. An extremely complex one when mated to a comparatively small hull. Ed, is it even possible to build something like that in America? Are there any ship yards or facilities that could do it here?

If fact this is one of the two yards over here that had the capacity given the size/weight of the modules. The other large yard, Daewoo, could not. The Hyundai yard could but they already have a huge job, Gorgon, that Chevron is running. We are a partner in it. They all run just shy of 5000 tonnes. This yard employs 28,000 every day and puts out something like 60 ships/year plus a huge number of tonnes of offshore oil rigs. Quite a place to experience.
