I grew up on the farm packing and shooting various pistoles of my dads. Mostly a Ruger MK I .22 and occasionally his old Colt Gov't 1911 .45. When I turned 21 dad and I went down to the local tire/gun store and both of us bought .357 Magnum revolvers. I bought a good condition used Dan Wesson M15 and dad bought a brand new S&W M19 Combat Magnum. Both were 4" models. We got a couple boxes of factory loads, a set of loading dies, pound of Unique, primers and several boxes of Speer 146 gr. half jacket semi-wadcutter hollow points. I shot that DW .357 out of time until it was spitting lead so badly it was danged hazardous. I went back to the combo tire-gun shop a few years later and traded it on a Ruger Security Six 4" blued. And on and on it has been... smile

Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
