I'm glad that you said that the lion is one critter that really SCARES you. I totally felt the same ... I mean, I would not hesitate to kill the huge cat most sincerely dead, but the huge bugger was just plain scary.

Grizzly? Yep, I had one boil out of a pool in Snake River up in the Yukon. It was a really big sow and she had two 2/3-grown cubs with her.

She boiled out of the pool and stood upright and made tooth-grinding noises. Damn, did I walk backwards out of that one.

That bruin got my attention just like the lion.

On my one and only leopard hunt, my PH carried an FN-FAL to the blind. He did not have to use it, Thank the Good Lord.

Any guy who isn't scared by big carnivores with teeth and claws has no brains.
