I get your point Pat, and can look backwards to all of the musical examples that prove what you're saying. It's all just entertainment, so whatever floats a generation's boat I guess. I just can't call it "country" any more than that bubblegum crap Tim McGraw makes a fortune with. While Reality TV is also a form of entertainment, it's so distanced from reality, that I can't enjoy that either. If this new "genre" was given a different label, like Trailer, then I'd be fine with it, and know what to expect, and avoid.

And to your original point, I AM encouraged that this next generation is calling BS to the Political Correctness that's being shoved down our throats. I said exactly that yesterday to a high school kid at a gas station who pulled up in a late model Chevy 2500 with both Gadsen and CS Battle flags flying from the bed. He and his GF didn't look "hate filled," just young, and fed up with the country they're inheriting.
