Up here in Minnesota our northern deer herd suffers from two things. Bad winters and wolf depredation. The liberals succeeded in getting our token wolf season overturned. Now we have some of the fattest wolves you've ever seen running around up north. I've hunted from North of Brainerd up to the Duluth area, and the herd is really reeling. Two years ago up near Duluth we never heard a single shot, nearby or far away until 4:30 Saturday afternoon of the opener. I will be hunting west of here in the Alexandria area. No wolves, and lots of deer. Shotguns only, but that's fine. I still have an 870 set up for slugs from my previous life in Ohio.
