My young friend Vince is a gourmet chef just getting into hunting for the meat so I took him out and showed him the ropes today. All he wanted was a meat buck so we really got lucky with a very big bodied forked horn. He shoots a Savage 110. I know I'm getting old and tired but it was all BOTH of us could do to drag this deer up out of a canyon pulling on 1-2-3. Bout killed us off! It's bigger bodied than most 4x4's I see. Thick brush, steep mountains!
He's not a 99 guy
yet, but he shot the powdercated 99F .358 today and had a ball blowing up rocks at 150 yards. I have it zeroed at 50, on again at 150. At 250 it's down 10-12" but deadly accurate. Rocks don't stand a chance.
He loved it and I could see the wheels begin spinning. He's hooked he just doesn't know it yet. I'll let him shoot a 250, that should do it.
