Yep, but a lot of hunters (even handloaders) are obsessed with muzzle velocity, just as if it was still 1900 and smokeless powder was the new kid on the block. That was reasonably valid when almost all hunting rifles had iron sights and 200 yards (often guessed as 300-400) was considered a pretty long shot, but things have changed a little since then. :-)
