I carried a model 65 that our armorer put a smooth faced trigger in. I added a pair of Herretts Jordan trooper grips and simply shot the daylights out of it. We only issued a .357/125 load and I believe the forcing cone issue to be overstated.
This old revolver tuned itself up and only ever shot better with heavy use. Others reported similar results.
