Speaking of Roys horse, I am reminded of a little diddy from my grandfather, a florida cowboy.....
Beware of a horse with one white hoof,
Of two beware the same.
A horse with three is no good at all,
and four is not worth his name..........
but then granddad worked his horses....
they were not for picture taking...
I heard it this way:
One white foot—buy him.
Two white feet—try him.
Three white feet—eye him.
Four white feet—deny him.
