CowboyVon, glad you enjoyed the show. I and other writers had fun writing for it. Every year at Christmas CBS and the
Gunsmoke production company would throw a huge Christmas party and dinner on the very large sound stage where the permanent set of Dodge City was erected. That was at CBS Studios, Studio City.
The writers, directors, actors, production staff, our spouses, and other guests from the industry were invited. Interesting to be bellied up to the Longbranch Saloon bar drinking real booze.
