I've been offered to trade a couple hand guns I own for a Winchester Model 1894, .30 WCF, rifle that is estimated to date from 1943.

I've yet to see this rifle or its serial number to better determine its age, condition, variation, etc. -
but if this rifle is in 'almost like-new' and original condition as friend describes, what kind of value might we be looking at?

My friend paid over $1,000 a few years ago to a vintage firearms dealer - and we both want to be fair on this deal.
Any guesses on an approximate value or thoughts, would be appreciated.
