Republicans have swept the halls of political power since 2000 across the United States, at local, state, and national levels.

however, over, and over again for their support and votes, Conservatives have been handed a chit sandwich. Just look at Florida, where the GOP in name only party controls the State, and Florida continues to behave as a liberal dhimmicrat State Government. Look at the Current Senate and Congress in DC. GOP controlled, but impotent, and unwilling to do a freaking thing.
No lads, we have been screwed out of our birthright, deprived of our vote, are bereft of representation, and fighting a last ditch battle for control of America.

That's because the party that dominates doesn't actually have much power. The folks who are at the top are not elected. They're the folks who tell the elected folks what they can and cannot do, and what they are required to do and not do.

There is a power behind the throne, so to speak. Of late, it's been termed the "deep state." If anyone not part of the deep state club ever manages to get elected, the entire force of the deep state is set against them, either driving them out of office by use of their vast resources (to include their total control of the MSM), or doing away with them by one method or another.

Edward Gibbon laid it all out, and nothing has much changed. Concentrate power in a central state, and the people will soon cease to wield any power over the state. The Founders had it right, too. We didn't listen.

The Trump election was the people's attempt at waging war with those who are actually in power ... the members of the unelected deep state.
