I wish you would have said something earlier. We could have compare notes on the 375 Ruger. I'm headed to AK on 5/31 for a grizzly hunt. I'm planning on using a 270 Hornady round nose interlock. My reload has 80 grains of IMR 4350 & CCI mag primer. It's @ 2600 fps. I've recovered beautiful mushrooms from wet phone books at 75 yards. I got about 14" of penetration & the bullet weighed 170 grains. I did the same test with dry phone books and I got about 12 1/2" of penetration & the recovered bullet weighed the same 170 grain. FYI-----Grizzly & Brown bears are the same animal. Where I'm hunting it's considered a grizzly by SCI standards but a brown bear by B&C. I'm hoping for an 81/2 footer.
