Except for LR practice, or precision shooting at 100 yards or so, there's absolutely no rational reason for using premium ammo/bullets, whether bought or handloaded, for practicing speed shooting, off-hand shooting or anything else at ranges less than 150 yards on man sized or similar targets.

Even banging 12" or so targets at longer range can be done with the better FMJ ammo today.

Unless you're shooting a pretty high-grade barrel, IMI M193 is better than most run of the mill barrels & guns, IMHO.
