At the price they're going for right now, I can't imagine why anyone would not buy a S&W Shield instead of a Taurus.
I understand what you're saying but for one thing, the rebate is over for the Shields. Not sure if those who have offered good deals will maintain those prices or not. It looks like PSA raised their prices about 50 bucks for a 9, and not much else is left in stock, presently. The Taurus also holds more rounds, being a double stack, and fits my hand better than the much slimmer Shield. I have both but have not shot either enough to form an opinion on that yet.
